Peabody Acton-Boxboro scoreless at the half.

One AB player ejected. AB Player was fouled by a Peabody player, who herself received a yellow card, and AB player retaliated with a swing. Not sure if it connected.

What is it about these thuggish teams in the North? Testosterone rubbing off their coaches?

Especially the last paragraph... Seems to correctly imply what AB would need to do to stay in the game and given posts over the last 1/2 hour that is exactly what they did... and came up just a little short. A red card is quite severe, especially in a playoff game and generally a swing is prefaced by far more. I will stand by the original poster's thesis and call it a valid assessment of that team and that coach!

Not a dirty game at all. One major issue and that was it. Otherwise, totally hard fought game on both sides. Unfortunately, noone will ever know what could have happened. AB stayed in it for the majority of the game a man down. Not so much the blowout that was predicted. The winner came from a penalty kick in OT.

You're being a little loose with the term 'penalty kick'. The goal wasn't the result of a PK. It came on a direct kick as a result of a foul.

Peabody did not deserve to win that game. They were lucky that AB got an ejection. Even though AB was a man down from the beginning of the first half they fought hard and never gave up. AB wanted it more and were better all over the field. The goal Peabody scored was because of a foul outside of the box, which was not a very good call. It sucks for the losing team and I feel bad for them that the refs made so much of an impact. You know its a problem when the refs seem like another player making a difference to the game. AB definitely proved themselves in the game today.

Hey AB. Here's a hint. Adopt ISL logic. Assume the scoreboard is incorrect and you start the game up 2 goals, because you are clearly that much better. Bingo. a 1 goal loss is instantly a 1 goal win. No more nightmares of a free kick laser from she who must not be named. Head to Le Lyonnais for dinner. You earned it. Works for our family. ;)

Will this be the third strike out for LB at A-B? After getting overly involved and not letting his players do what they do best his first year, he couldn’t get it done against Gonk with the national player of the year HB, and a great supporting cast. To last year where he completely shut down and ran his starters out of gas by not making a single substitution in a double overtime loss to Westford, a team they beat twice in the regular season. Their match up with Peabody, a team that has beaten them the last to meetings, will be very interesting. The last game A-B played without two of their senior starters, but will that be enough to compensate for their slow center backs, that HD got behind to score the match winner. Even with the return of the senior forward they don’t have a viable scoring threat as she has trouble receiving and distributing the ball. Can they match up with Peabody’s size and be able to contain the speed and skill of HD. What will he do this year? Will he just stick to the game plan he goes in with or will he be able to make the proper adjustments to his personnel as the game dictates. I always wonder what game the coach is watching when his players are noticeably gassed, physically hobbled or they just don’t match up well and no adjustments are made. I also think that A-B has what it takes to move on, but will LB let it happen.

Was at the game and neither team deserved to win. Very boring and poorly played game. Ab girl deserved.a red She threw a punch and kicked the other girl. Not a very smart decision. Peabody vs chelmsford in the finals...whos going to win? I think peabody has the
upper hand, but chelmsford has been playing well
