Over the course of the year I will see most of the top teams. I have a lot of friends (coaches, refs and parents) still directly involved with HS and I ask them their opinions. I also keep up with results via the newspapers. The Lynn Item, Salem News and Lawrence Eagle Tribune (along with the Globe and Herald) provide lots of info about the girls' games.
As for my comment about Danvers, Belmont and Fenwick, they are two-fold. These three teams have completely dominated the North D2 ranks for a decade. Other than a single win by Arlington, I believe they (mostly Danvers and Belmont) have won every D2 North Title going back to the late 90's. It has been an impressive run. This year things have been different. I have seen Danvers and Fenwick play and neiether has the talent of previous years. Based on results (and info from others) the same seems to be true about Belmont. But none can be counted out this year. My early opinion of the entire region is that there is greater parity but less quality. So it is wide open.

Kudos to MPS and the Newton SOE Programs. The players have reached HS and are fitting in nicely on the girls and boys teams.

I predict that they will go undefeated during the regular season, look at the coach to be the D2 coach of the year.
You heard it here first.
...and, like in 2009 and 2010, will lose in first round of state tournament. Probably to a tri-valley league team.

Hey Harry you might want to re-think your rankings after Newton North went out and tied Framingham 1-1 today.........that was Framingham's first point of the year.

Results in Cape Ann are inconsistent so far this year. Georgetown may be the only sure bet to win its joke of a division.
