    3 points for a win;1 for a tie

co-champs if teams have same number of points

Schools can play up but can not play down unless there is a compelling reason.

Class B is less competitive than A. There is more depth in A. There is little difference at the top of A and B.

Brooks won Class B four or five times in the nineties. They switched to Class A in the early 2000s for the added challenge.brooks won A in 2002 and played in the finals in 2005 or 2006

Worcester Academy did the same. The girls program won the Class C championship in 2002 then moved to Class B the following year. They won the Class B championship in 2008 and 2009 and was the runner up in 2010. This year will be the first year that they will compete in the Class A tournament, but their schedule has always included Class A schools. The boys have been competing in Class A for some time now.

Thayer tied St Marks 1-1 and beat BBN 5-0 this week. Got back MF with torn ACL.

Worcester is B. Not sure why so many times it's been said the are A. They are Class B. Check it out on NEPSAC.org.

Those are last year's class listings. WA moved up to Class A this year.

Is the schedule the same as previous years:

                Quarterfinals on Wednesday
                Semifinals on Saturday
                Finals on Sunday

Does anyone know where they are playing the finals this year?

What? You don't think I know what I'm talking about? There are some of us out here with kids at the school.

Not sure about the girl side or other NEPSAC leagues, but I know on the ISL boys side there was a push back last year against B schools moving into A. Most of the ISL 's are B class size.

Do they have a turf field now?

Standings as of Sunday November 6, 2011:

1 Nobles 28 points - Play Rivers and Milton to end their season. No wins outside of ISL, so this week will determine their seeding in Class A tournament. Could finish in any of the top 3 positions in ISL, although they do not need to win out but need at least one win in these two games.

2 Rivers 27 - Plays Nobles to end their season. Will be the #1 or #2 seed in Class B tournament. Could finish in any of the top three potitions in ISL. A win against Nobles does not automatically win the ISL for them.

3 Milton 25 - Plays Brooks and Nobles to end their season. Will be a high seed in Class A. Could finish in any of the top 4 positions, but two wins gives them the crown. They control their destiny.

4 Brooks 20 - Two games remaining cannot do better than 3rd, and only if Milton losses twice can they do better than 4th. Will be in Class A tournament. A great second half to the season after a rocky start.

5 Governors 19 - One game left. Cannot do better than 4th. Likely have win the game to be in Class B tournament.

6 Groton 18 - Two games left - Have to win at least one to be in Class B tournament.

7 St Marks 17 - They make the Class C tournament as a 4, 5 or 6 seed and will be tough to beat in that Class. Finish up against Groton.

8 Lawrence 14 - Are they good enough to make the tournament? Still have a game against Groton as well.

                          9 Thayer 11
                          10 St Pauls 6
                          11 Middlesex 3
                          12 BB&N 3
                          13 St Georges 0

I am projecting 3 ISL's in Class A, 4 ISL's in Class B (although Governors is not a lock) and 1 in Class C tournaments (congratulations to St Marks for a great turnaround season).

Once and for all. WA is in Class A this year. This information is straight from the coach.

You may have a kid there, but it has been known since the start of the season that WA declared for Class A in girls soccer.

I do not believe they have turf fields at Pomfret, as their website says nothing about building them and all photos are of grass fields.

Additionally the NEPSAC website has no information about any Fall 2011 tourments at all, so I would find it hard to believe that decision has been made yet. The meeting for seedings in a week from yesterday. I would be shocked if the finals are anywhere without 2 turf fields.
