Interesting as it seems some schools do not report their results:

    Independent School League
LEAGUE ALL HOME AWAY GF/G GA/G
    Nobles 3-0 3-0-2 3-0 0-0-2 4.4 0.8 (6-0 in ISL and 6-0-2 overall per school website)
    Milton Academy 2-0 3-2 0-1 3-1 1.0 1.0 (5-0 in ISL and 6-3 overall per school website)
    Rivers 4-0-1 7-1-1 2-1-1 5-0 2.9 0.8
    St. Mark’s 4-1 5-1 2-0 3-1 2.0 0.3
    Groton 5-2 7-2 4-1 3-1 2.4 1.0
    Governor’s Academy 4-2 4-2 3-0 1-2 2.3 1.2
    Lawrence Academy 2-2 3-2 1-2 2-0 1.4 1.2
    Brooks 2-1-2 3-3-3 2-1 1-2-3 1.3 1.6
    Middlesex 1-4 1-4-1 1-1-1 0-3 1.2 1.7
    Thayer 0-3-1 2-4-1 1-2-1 1-2 1.0 1.4
    St. Paul’s 0-3 0-4 0-1 0-3 0.8 5.5
    BB&N 0-4 1-6 1-3 0-3 1.0 2.7
    St. George’s 0-5 0-8 0-5 0-3 1.0 3.3

It does look like it is Nobles to lose.
Milton and Rivers may have an outside shot as they are Nobles last two games of the season.
Perhaps St Mark's will finish top 5, but that Nobles score seems to put St Marks into the top of the middle instead of the top 5 since they have not yet played Milton, Rivers, Groton or Governors yet, each of which is likely to finish ahead of them but are unlikely to challenge Nobles.
Nobles has looked great playing all the weak teams to date, but haven't played the other top 5 teams yet either, so perhaps a slip or two are inevitable for them as well?

Governors lost to Lawrence last week. They may not be as strong as people think. We'll see about Groton on Wednesday at Nobles. Looks like Rivers may be the only test for Nobles. But the 1-0 over BB&N and a 1-1 tie with Brooks doesn't look good. Maybe they have some injuries.

        Tournament

It will be very interesting to see which teams qualify for their respective tournaments.

How does Noble match up against the rest of Class A?

Rivers have enough juice to take on WA in Class B?

In the off chance SM qualifies for Class C, how will they do? Too much too early?

I think WA will be competing in Class A this year.

I think you may be trolling, but as neutral observer I will take the bait and state that I think St Marks has good chance of going far in Class C, particularly if Groton has moved up to Class B. I think bigger challenge will be preserving strong enough record over their remaining schedule to get included in playoffs, but I think the selection committee looks closely at caliber of competition and St Marks will have played much tougher schedule than most other Class C teams.

This is my first year in the ISL. Can someone explain to me how the playoffs work? How do you qualify and who do you play against?

There are 4 tournaments ( A,B,C,D) The list of eligible teams was shown in an earlier post.
The teams are selected by a committee on Saturday evening, Nov 12. Each tournament will have 8 teams. Typically 6-7 ISL teams will be selcted.

Nice concise explanation. I would add that teams are seeded 1-8 with higher seed hosting games until finals, which will be at neutral site. Playoff schedule is typically quarterfinals on Wed. after teams are selected, semi-finals on Saturday and finals on Sunday.

Thanks for the explanation! I'm a Groton parent so this means that the committee needs to see Groton as one of the top 8 teams in Class B in order to make it. It would be nice to have a weekly ranking of the teams in each class to see how they are doing in the playoff race.

Good luck v Nobles today! The Zebra Lion game at the end of the year may mean something!

You are correct, and while rankings may be too much to ask for, there should be at least some sort of published results or won/loss records by conference. The whole selection/seeding process seems highly secretive and mysterious to me, despite the fact that at least some of the committee members consist of rotating coaches or AD's from member schools.

Thanks, we're going to need it!

It will be great if the GS vs St. Marks game becomes a true competitive rivalry moving forward. It will only make things more exciting and entertaining for both schools.

The committees consist of coaches of teams NOT in the particular class. For example, three coaches from Class A might be charged with selecting class B teams. Every year someone feels slighted, but, generally the selections are appropriate. All 4 final games are played at the site which shifts from East to West every year or two.
