Nope, just following the usual path - remember, very little competition in Cmass. They do appear to have scored fewer goals this year (fewer blow away game scores), with a very good, well trained, mostly club team. If I had to guess, the captains are refusing to do the whole "pad the stats" thing that Gonk's been known for in the past. If true, good for them. I have been reading this post for years and the Gonk is damned if they do and damned if they don't (scores too high or too low and everyone is all over them). A Varsity player playing down on the JV team 5 minutes left in the game 1-0 gonk. Puts the ball down for a goal kick steps to the side and starts to tie his shoe. Amazingly the gonk ref says nothing.Comment

First time watching gonk- this is the "best" we have to offer? Granted that Nashoba was out classed but didn't see anything special from gonk - NO midfield play whatsoever - left back has no left foot and just boots long diagonal balls- team just bypasses midfield - cm doesn't get involved and all the outside mids do is try to pick off second balls - cb had nice headball goal but had no one on him so it was easy and a soft goal- 2nd cb has no enthusiasm and (as the whole seems to do) just goes through the motions - #3 up flintlocks good two other forwards are average and can't play with back to goal- free kicks and corners are predictable and just smashmouth-coach had a interesting sub pattern but seems to lack confidence in bench cause he didn't use many players-if this is the "best" we have in cm then h.s.
