what does that have to do with the current gd team and their lack of finishing in the playoffs when it matters? current nipmuc team players have won the last 2 cmass titles beating gd in the playoffs both years. they also have also won 4 of the last 6 cmass titles if you want to talk about relevant history, how many for gd the last 6 years? any more comparisions you want to make? who has been stumbling in the playoffs now?

The last 2 years Nipmuc beat GD in the playoffs, so congrats to you. 3-6 years ago GD was unfairly in D1. Were Nipmuc in D1, you would have no district championships to show either, guaranteed. So let's see how this year goes. GD's offense was too young the past two years, and NP their all state star and top forward in 2009, went out early with an injury in that Nipmuc game. Let's see if you can stop him this year.

Why was it unfair that they were in D1?

When the decision was made GD had about 350 boys which everyone agreed was well within Div2 guidelines. But GD has just participated in three consecutive state championship games, winning 2. There was a feeling that GD was too good for that level of competition and needed to be moved up. Perhaps that should be considered for a private school, but GD is a regular public school. So we were moved up to MidWachB, but ALL of GD's programs were left in D2 except soccer, which went to Div1. How does that make sense? (When does Bromfield get moved to Div2 in soccer?) Our AD resigned in protest. And when Coach Nyman, the 30+ year GD soccer veteran, retired several years later (see the Boston Globe article on that), an MIAA official came and publicly apologized for that mistake. That considered, we did our best, battling Marlboro hard and making it relatively far in D1. But the big three, Algonquin, Marlboro, and St John's, were always ahead of us, with populations 2-3 times bigger. That's over; the mistake has been corrected and let's see how this year goes.

Nice fabricated story. How they determine the division enrollments is on a 4 year basis/ They divide the schools up into 3 divisions based on enrollment. That is it. GD is always near the top of enrollment at D2 or near the bottom of D1

So explain why GD soccer was Div 1 and all the rest were Div2. The MIAA official admitted they decided on the basis of our performance. So if Nipmuc wins a few more district titles let's move them up the next 4 year cycle. Make sense?

Not true. GD was a D3 school in the 90's. The population has been growing faster than most, although for this alignment we are back in Div 2.

Sorry, nothing interesting to report. Team has no competition, coach is aligning MPS players and hoping for a championship during his son's tenure on the squad.

It'll be interesting to see if they lose any games - what will the excuse be????

They are a bunch of talented kids who work hard. Leave them alone. A monkey could be there coach cuz there is no coaching. The coach is there for one reason and one reason only. He shouldn't be there period!

BooHoo, so GD is using the red sox defense now, only they get injuries? 2 years ago they had plenty of seniors including their best offensive all american player mccafferty and goalie van riper both div 1 college players and still couldn't win. stop crying and win something recent would you.
