I predict Renegades flying home with Mickey photos again this year. Go MPSR!

Interesting brackets. I don't think there can be any doubt that the quality of the teams in the top division is down this year. Sorry to the MPS folks, but in prior years that team would have never got into the top division. So the ECNL is having an impact. They also seem to have impacted the college coaches attending, as the number of coaches from the ACC, Big 10 and SEC look to be way down, but it is still early. There are some interesting ECNL entrants from Bethesda, Albertson and the Eclipse but overall it looks like most of the ECNL did by-pass Disney. Rumors are that college coaches aren't happy with the split and few are interested in being in central Florida from the 26th until the 3rd. Especially because of the two day lapse in between tournaments (no games on the 29th or 30th). So some are being forced to make a choice and it looks like it might be a pretty even split.

Are any teams doing both tournaments? The big expense is the flights, so this might make sense, especially as Disney is after the 1 game a day ECNL tourney.

Why would a team do two tournaments back to back?

That's part of the craziness that cause programs like the DAP and ECNL in the first place - players playing too many games especially in the traditional tournament format.

I'm confused. Is flying home with Mickey photos a good thing or a bad thing ?

It is hard to tell if exact teams are doing both. There are certainly examples of clubs sending teams to both, but impossible to be sure if they are the same teams. At U18 (a strange example for sure), it looks like Concorde Fire out of Georgia and the CT Futbal Club would seem to be placing teams in both.

Beyond the issue of too many games, why would a U18 want that expense??? I mean I can see playing in one or the other for the competition, but both???

I think it means a good thing. IIRC they won their bracket last year.

Flying home with Mickey photos is a good thing as the age group champions, in a very Disneyesque moment, get the opportunity to purchase a team photo with the Mickey.

Maybe the two U18 teams still have a number of kids to place, and figure this is realistically their last chance to find a college team? Not all girls get signed sophmore and junior year.

NEWSS is a less expensive and a better option for those players at this late date.

Ct team, probably, but I doubt a team from Georgia would find it worthwhile to fly up to Long Island for 2 days after Thanksgiving.
