DII and DIII are a whole different ballgame, but why do a PG year to play D3 soccer?[/QUOTE]
Then you obviously don't understand the DAP, ISL, NESCAC, NESCAC-like elitism and wannabe-elitism industrial complex. For some folks Conn College and Trinity isn't going to cut it at a cocktail party or on the sidelines, and for some other folks they at least need to get to Conn College or Trinity to get in the cocktail party and/or avoid feeling like a complete failure on the sidelines.

I don't get the commitment thing? Is a "committed" player already admitted to the school or do they still have to apply and assumably will get in with coach's support? How do commitments fit with incoming transfers and grad students with a year of eligibility left?
How does the scholarship part of this work? My understanding is programs don't know how much scholarship money they have until after the season is over and they know who's returning, which returning players deserved to have their scholarship increased, how much financial aid is needed for the top incoming players whether an incoming freshman, transfer or grad student.
What happens if you're a committed player and the scholarship $ runs out before the program gets to you? Are you plain SOL?

Their are a lot of player's who simply have decided which schools they are going to attend next year. Their are only 2 players from the bolts DAP team who have listed their selections, where as I know that Seagel, McGrory, Stronach, Davis, Bailey, and Ballenthin are all in talks with numerous D1 schools... The showcase down in phoenix is going to play a big part in which schools they go to.

By the way, I'm sure these boys are happy to have an anonymous stranger speaking for them.

ummmm....if you are a senior and still negotiating with D1's at this point in time, you are not anywhere near the top of their list.

If he was that good, that big a prospect, he would have already received his offers from these D1 schools. The coaches would have put deadlines on him committing, so they knew whether or not to move on to other candidates.
But having said that, maybe he's committed somewhere and just not all that interested in making it public. Which in unlikely given the publicity he's sought out recently.

That's why you have to be skeptical when you only hear of 4 or 5 kids who have made their decisions public, all I'm saying.
