Close to 100 kids playing, an order of magnitude more than D1 for 2011. A lot of changes in the lineups; not sure why? Could be a number of reasons. There are probably dozens more I've missed. I'll stop for now.
OP here. Bumped up for you to look at. Last year's list. I will try to update in the next week.

This info is a great help for kids that are making decisions now or next year. Makes you think about 1. What level to play at. 2. where you have best chance to play. 3 Should they play soccer(or not) or go for the best academic opportunity as well as the best overall fit socially, etc. I have also heard that many schools have excellent club teams that play at competitive levels and are much less demanding of time and are a good way to meet people and play for fun. Thanks for all the info.

Of course your child should go for the academic and social fit before anything else.

If Academics are important in your search, the conference All- Academics should be coming out soon. You will be able to see how many athletes from each team are named.

LB is a grad student i'll include him because all of these players are in their final season of eligibily

11 MA D1 players left standing. 8 of the 11 are major contributors. GL to ND, PC, NU, and Bucknell in conference playoffs. ND an NCAA lock and in great shape to repeat as national champs, PC on the bubble must make deep run in big east. The rest can only hope for an automatic bid by winning conference playoffs.

Thanks for the update and it clearly illustrates how difficult it is to try to play D1 college soccer for 4 years. I hope you do find the time to update on the large D3 group because I'm sure it will also illustrate how difficult it is to play even at the D3 level which will be enlightening to many now going through the college recruitment process....bottom line--it is extremely difficult to play 4 years at any level.

                  Zach Grady/16/16/15/10/0 Williams

I would make the following points:

                  1) Of the 93 that played last season 15 were not rostered and 1 DNP, close to 20% of the kids.

                  2) Of those remaining 63 or about 80% of the players were on the field half of the games.

                  3) Of those that got much playing time, most or around 40 played the same as last year, 18 played much less, and 13 played more.

Overall there are some great players/performances on this list. Congrats to all these kids on their fine careers. A few still have the playoffs ahead.

Thank you for the update and congratulations to this group for their commitment in playing 4 years of college soccer....not an easy task at all. Note out to those still in HS who are contemplating playing college soccer....it is a very difficult endeavor and takes a huge commitment....the D3 list above has many HS All State, DAP and Club players who all were tremendous players at Club, DAP and HS level and yet they played D3 and not all flourished at the D3 level. It is very difficult to play in college at any level D1, D2 and D3, let alone for all 4 years....make sure those still in HS you choose the college for the college and not just soccer because you better be happy with your choice if the soccer doesn't pan out because statistics suggest that most won't play all 4 years, even at the D3 level.

Well put. It seems that players need to get through two rounds of evaluations - freshmen year where some might realize they are in over their heads (academically or athletically). It isn't just about playing time, because many freshmen won't get much. But it seems quite a few either drop out or transfer after the first year. Then again after sophomore year - if you're still not getting any playing time at this point it may be time to hang it up. Or the coach may make that decision for you so he can bring in some new blood. If you're playing a lot and playing well you've got a good shot at all four years.

Like you said not an easy thing to do

Any updates on what? The OP has graciously updated us on the status of this HS Class of 2011 Senior season....congratulations to this Class and especially all those who were able to play 4 years in college whether D1, D2 or D3.

OP here. Agreed. Only thing I can add is that in D1 NCAA's two true 2011's from PC are playing along with other MA kids, and in the D3 qtr finals, 11 MA kids from this class on Brandeis, Amherst, Kenyon, and Tufts are still in the hunt to see has the privilege of losing to Messiah in the finals.

                              Disturbance in the Soccer Force

Uh oh, suddenly the soccer world has turned upside down! No it's not the destruction of Alderon, it's this:

                              TUFTS 1 Messiah 0

I didn't know they could lose.

Unfortunately Brandeis and Kenyon lost so Tufts will be the lone local school in the final four. GL to them.
