What exactly do you mean by "next level"? Next level for my kid would be D3 soccer. What about you? And if your kid got a professional contract offer from some club in Yugoslavia, would he go? Or would that mess up his plan for a NESCAC school? If both of our kids are sitting together on the bench at Bowdoin does it matter who played DAP?
The biggest problem you have on this thread, amidst all of your smokescreen efforts, is that you have no commitments to post. And deep down even you know that telling us we won't know until September is a deceptive, time-buying cop-out since most D1 programs were done a long time ago with their recruiting. I know, your DAP kids could play D1 but would rather go to D3 schools....what was that about "next level"????

"Next level" is all about your son and what he wants to do with his soccer. My kid is irrelevant. As you note, if he and your son both ended up on the bench together at Bowdoin, how they got there, doesn't matter.
Bowdoin is a topnotch school. They play very competitive soccer there. Bowdoin draws talented players from all over the country and abroad. Just being on the team is an accomplishment one can be proud of.
There is a difference, however, between playing and just being on the team. If your son were to have a conversation with you about how excited he is about attending Bowdoin and the prospects of playing soccer there and he asked your advice on whether he should stick with his current MAPLE or play DAP to ensure his best chance of getting on the field, what would you say?

And why is your kid irrelevant? Part of the frustration some of us are having in this "discussion" is that it has been very focused on the mistake that non-DAP players are making (if they could play DAP) and all the reasons why. What has not been articulated is how it is in fact helping, concretely, the kids actually doing it.

If one reads the whole thread, the DAP poster(s) -- maybe just you? -- gives the distinct opinion that playing non-DAP if one could do otherwise is a fool's folly and that a non-DAP player's chances at college are dramatically reduced and shrinking by the minute. How many times have you posted that ALL of the college coaches are going to DAP events and they know they don't need to waste elsewhere. Your argument actually makes sense, if only the data for 2011 in MA would back you up.

I checked the 2010 boys commitment thread and about this time last year there were 10 players headed to D1 schools, 4 players to D2 schools and 13 players headed to D3 schools.
Where are all of the 2011 commitments?

To the poster above me, a lot of kids just are not bothering to contact espn and get their commitments listed.
