As I said many moons ago (maybe in this thread?), I would hope that the two U11 teams teams playing up in U12 are NOT allowed to participate in the Andre Cup as a consequence of their playing in U12. They have the posibility to qualify for the Irwin Cup, just as any other U12 team per the already established and clearly defined qualification criteria. I cannot see how nor do I think MAPLE would alter the rules to allow it.

Note: 2 teams who qualified for the Blue section are currently playing in U12. They will be seeded with the U11 Blue section.
The top 6 teams from the Blue Section, plus the top team from the Green Section for a total of 9 teams.
The remaining 7 teams will be determined as follows by playdown games to be arranged prior to the tournament. Seeding for the games will be done by section, with only the spring results counting.
The 2 remaining team in the Blue Section
The next 6 teams in the Green Section
The 1st teams in the Navy, Orange, Purple, Red, White & Yellow Sections

Top – Nobody in the same league with these 2 teams yet.
1 NEFC BB
2 Stars D

3 NEFC NB
4 SSS LL (U11)
5 Scorpions KD
6 NH Classics
7 SSS LL (U10)
Bottom – Not enough talent to compete with the top 6 but will give them trouble on any given day

NEFC is leaving maple and I'm sure they'd like nothing better than to win their tournament on the way out the door. They came close last year and I would expect them to come back and win it this time. I personally would not make them the favorite however as the Stars are playing very good soccer. The only hope for one of the other teams would be if stars and NEFC BB met in an earlier round and knocked the other out. That would depend on the seeding. I dont think it's fair to seed the teams playing up u12 in the top six. Jmo

But NEFC BB might choose not to come and revert back to 8v8
Green Division Last place team is ineligible for Andre Cup.
This might change if NEFC BB does not enter the ANDRE CUP as has been mentioned on TS
===============================
Blue Division games this weekend
Stars C vs Classics - Many think Classics wil beat the Stars, I think Stars get the win
Crusaders vs Scorpions - Tough spot for Crusaders to meet Scorpions after two loses this week look for KD girls to rebound with a win
SSelect vs Pasa - Pasa finally found the goal last week vs Crusaders, Select will struggle to shutdown Pasa big forward (2-1 Pasa)
Stars D vs. NEFC (Nick-less team) will be dominated by JD girls 5-1 Stars
==============================
Couple of Key games left in Green before top spot is determined
Fuller vs. Western United - Green Division game of the week
Crusaders with two loses looks to be 3rd at best or dropping to middle of Green lose to NEFC G team
North shore a physical team that can score should be able to beat a nice under 10 Scorpions team playing up with a good keeper
Benifica vs Sachem - win should go to Benifica, their two strong physical girls carry this team to the win this week.
===================================
Navy
1) Bayside
2) Vikings
3) Aztecs (lose to Bayside hurts tie breaker scenario)
===================================
Orange
1) Galway big game week 6 vs NEFC G
2) NEFC G lose to FC NAPOLI could cost them division
3) Explosion big game for them vs NEFC G this week - need win to garner
chance at top spot
===================================
Purple
1) NEFC B - run the table to be Top Dog
2) Smithfield - still have both NEFC teams to play - need to win both
3) NEFC M - already lost to NEFC B, needs some help
===================================
Red
1) Looks like one horse race Scorpions West wins
if they continue to get it done like first 4 weeks
===================================
White
1) Aztecs - get two of the weaker teams, plus explosion in next three
2) Explosion play three tough games 2nd, 3rd, 4th need to get it done or
get caught from behind
3) Fuller (b) - have Aztecs, Explosion, plus two weaker teams, they need to
win both games vs Aztec/Explosion
===================================
Yellow
Blackwatch, Stars B, Red Thunder all can score and are not giving up goals
Still up for grabs..

Why wouldn't they be interested in the best u11 teams in a tournament? Is that not great competition playing the stars, scorpions, western or any of the top teams or are they just too good at this point? Maybe they should go back to Arizona and beat those teams up again I'm sure that was great competition. For a team not interested in building a resume they sure list every one on their website.

It doesn't make sense for the team to switch to 11v11 and then come back to 8v8 just to play in the Andre Cup. I can see it now. If they do play in the A. Cup all of the T-S experts (like yourself) will be going on about how they are just trying to "build their resume".
If they don't play, you'll say they think they are too good. If they do play, you'll claim that it's ridiculous how they switched to 11v11 and then came back to U11 just for the Andre Cup. Get over it and let the team do as it pleases.
As for AZ, get over that too. The team had no idea the top teams from CA and AZ would use that weekend to start their 11v11 play. They were listed with the U11 teams on the website prior to the tournament. By the way, NEFC still played against the top team from Sereno and won. You can't find that on gotsoccer though, so you wouldn't know. The fact that you are checking up on another team that closely is scary enough. Your obsession is not healthy

Of course as long as the kids enjoy it now, and parents are willing to agree to time committment I see no problems. Just wondering how many of the girls on this current team--unquestionably excellent players-will play in HS, college? How many will decide they prefer another sport? How important is it to be a great player at 10 or 11 years old? What is the long term translation...
