I'm sure several will apply. But they aren't the prominent girls program that they are on the boys side. so I could see where the Stars and Scorpions could be selected.

Scorpions had their RedBull application rejected so you would think that they would apply for the DAP.

I'm curious as to why TM being hired in this position shows that the club's girls side has fallen? Does anyone know anything about him? He is replacing Tracy Kerr in this role; is he really a step down? Given the venom towards this club from some, they could've named Pia Sundage coaching director and there would've been negativity from somewhere.

Name another club that has the number of college coaches involved in Massachusetts. Just one.

Don't assume that having college coaches on your staff is the best way to build a successful youth program. The first priority of a college coach is to the college so you can see a lot of conflicts arise. The approach to coaching college teams and youth teams are different. Some college coaches can make that transition, some can't. Lastly, some of the college assistant coaches are quite inexperienced. They are learning on the job as apprentices.

Look at some of the more successful clubs (Stars, Scorps, etc.) and look how many college coaches are on their staffs.

How do I/we know you're not with the Bolts? Because you've done nothing but post non-specific club bashing. Why don't you post one or two specific examples of things that have happened at the club that makes you think the club is suffering from failed potential and going down the toilet?

I have and am still waiting for YOU to answer. Or maybe you don't think issues of hiring coaches relevant to the topic. Who is Melisa Colwell? Or is it Melissa Colwell? Who is Katie Shields? What experience have either had coaching youth soccer? Lots of college experience on staff, but how does this prepare them to coach youngsters?

Mohammed at least has a masters in education, so he will bring something to the table regarding youth teams. Have to wait and see.

Keep in mind that college coaches, esp asst coaches move around quite a bit as better opportunities arise. Even head coaches at big name programs move on (e.g., John Kerr, Jr).

Biggest issue for the girls program is that the Bolts have to fill 5 coaching positions for the 2 DAP teams and those coaches have to meet certain specifications which means their coaching budget is heavy on the boys side and the girls teams are subsidizing, but not getting any of the benefits.

The Bolts beat her child's team repeatedly from U10 to U16. This is called payback, pathetic as it is. Personally, I would suggest counselling as the type of behavior is bound to rub off on your child. Read the x-rated messages from a couple months back to get idea of how zany this can get...

That could not have happened. No Bolts girls team in the last decade would fit that bill. :)

The Bolts u-15 team had as a coach an assistant college coach this year and if you can look at many
post the lady was only there part of the time. What do you think a college head coach is going to put in in terms of real time?
Maybe the fact that a title means more to some parents than anyone else could be an attraction
if that does not translate into actual benefit for the players it will be short lived.
Then again temporary solutions seem to work for some clubs.

They have had some very good girls teams.

You people can't look past the next MAPLE win to see the big picture. What's the benefit of college coaches? How about contacts amomg the coaching ranks? How about a coach that understands the recruiting process and can offer advice to families on what to look for, and what to stay away from? I'd kill to have our club have one coach from a college that could help us navigate that road, never mind an entire staff of them.
