It will all hinge on who is named coach and how many new players they pick up. If they should get relegated, it will be a little more difficult to pull it off, but the league that that team chooses to play is but a small detail in the total picture. The Bolts name holds a lot of clout, so getting that team into tournaments will be a lot easier for them then it would be for a lot of other clubs regardless of what league they initially play. They may have to start out in the lower flights, but they've got 2 years before it really matters. If I had a daughter in this age group, I'd be keeping a close eye on what's going on and if I wasn't happy with our current circumstances I'd be bringing her to the Bolts tryouts.

It seems like you are very naive. When have "all" the rumors come to pass from this forum?
I seem to recall many not being true. If 1/2 of this "comes to pass" then maybe Bolts can do ok, but still does not put them in the top 1/2 of this age group.

Mark my words. The Bolts have been pretty accomodating in the past to accumulating top talent in exactly this way. There is a crack in the Stars armour. If Stars don't respond to the problems, the Bolts have the opportunity to begin the turn around of their girls program with their U13 team.

Not to mention that things are a little shakey down south too. Bolts being halway between the Stars and Scorpions could pull off a pretty good U14 team.

Is this how far the FCGB has sunk?? Reduced to spreading rumors of unrest in clubs that actually care about girls soccer to try and scare up some potential recruits?? Pathetic.

Honestly, it is pathetic if you think it FCGB as a club spreading these rumors. Does that mean that when the Blazers got their start (how they doing now?) and people were on here stating it was the beginning of the end for the Bolts on the boys' side it was Blazers as a club doing the posting? Or that all of the bashing the Bolts have taken about their girls' programs has been as a result of other clubs starting rumors?

IT'S PARENTS WITH SOUR GRAPES, OR MAYBE A COACH OR TWO WITH TOO MUCH TIME ON THEIR HANDS, NOT THE CLUB

Why can't we all just root for any of Massachusetts clubs to do well and represent the state at all age groups at Regionals or beyond? Why can't we all just get along.

It would be great to see the BOLTS on the girls side rebound, but really, the U13's are having the same issue their older sister teams are having and had as younger teams leading to their debacle - they can't score goals.
The U13's will not be playing in SubRegional next year as U14's - can't believe you are naive enough to believe the BOLTS name will over come them NOT being a winning team. You need a good record, a good state cup run, and some wins against regionally ranked teams to get into SubRegional league. That is not happening now and beating the lowest two teams in MAPLE does not qualify a team.
Last any of us heard, the BOLTS are not going into NEP either. They are stuck in MAPLE and are becoming less and less competitive.
Yes, the U15's won a state cup game. That's good, but they beat a D3 team 1-0. They scored their first goal of the season. They aren't getting to Round Robin play as they need two more wins and they will likely be relegated to D3 at the end of the season.
Keep supporting the club, but there is absolutely no evidence of a turn around coming this spring and there's no way disgruntled players/families from Stars and Scoprions are running to BOLTS any time soon. They would walk to a couple of other clubs that are onthe upswing and have good exposure like MPS and maybe Eagles, but they don;t go to losing teams that are not going to big tournaments or regional play.

This is not an "issue." It's simply another way of saying that the Bolts are losing games to better teams.

If it were an "issue," then you could presumably point to a overly conservative style of play shared by all the Bolts teams. But you can't.

Or you could say there was something about the club that causes talented strikers and offensive-minded midfielders to look elsewhere. Well, there is something: its teams aren't very good.

The current U15 team may very well score 0 goals in Maple this season, even though it dropped down a division. Why is that? Because the team inherited the same conservative style of play from last spring's U14s, which scored only 2 goals? Since it has a new coach and mostly new players, the answer must be no.

The correct answer must be that the team is playing above its proper level.

That must be why all those great teams from Maine are playing in the sub regional leagues right? Take a look at the teams playing in the older age groups. There are teams that would have a hard time competing in Maple D. You haven't a clue how much politics play in youth soccer. Region 1 would love to see FCGB Bolts competing in the sub regional and I say this not as a supporter of the Bolts, but as someone who knows the system. MPS does not have that clout nor do the Eagles. Very few Massachusetts clubs do.

                          Comment

MPS has 4 teams currently playing in subregional, Eagles have 1 (this is just on the girls side). No clout? MPS =4 times the clout of FCGB by your logic.

As a Bolts parent, I am really getting a kick out of the whining you Stars parents have now interrupted our thread with. At U13 you are 17th in the nation and you're stillnot happy. Obviously you either want to be in control of the decisions of the team or your child isn't playing as much as you think she should. If any of these clubs start letting parents make the decisions there will only be more unrest. That's why we all pay these ridiculous fees and not to have decisions made by parents.

^^ Amen to that. If there is really a clink in the armour in Starsland then go to the land of Bolts where some players are offered free tuition to get them to come. If that's what you need to pad your ego, go for it. The other full-paying families will welcome you with open arms. Heck, maybe the people getting the "Stars" to come will also get a free ride.
