I dont agree... to me a fluke is something that happened unexpectedly, unusually..in sports a super soft goal would be a fluke to me.

A fluke is something unexpected. I've seen long bombs go in if a goalie is off their line and cheating out. A shot that would be stopped 99 out of 100 times is a fluke

I'm not an NEFC parent- I thought they were a better passing team than the Pride...

I am also not a STARS parent- but they move the ball better than any team in the Blue division.

Looks like Western United took it on the chin and the Pioneers continue to surprise.

Nice post, obviously a proud Pioneers parent bashing their neighbor team. try not to forget Pioneers have played a couple teams that will be on the bottom at the end of the year and western has played the top 2 teams in the Blue. Keep being so proud

Nope, no horse in that race, just the facts taken from the MAPLE website.

Pioneers beat a team that couldn't even PASA as a rec soccer team.

How did those 2 teams get there? Flukes? They must have won a division or 2?

There is a lot of change each season at these younger age groups. There is also a great division in this age group as with all other age groups it seems between those top 4-5 teams and the rest of the league.

NEFC and Aztecs from the Green will both be more competitive than PASA, Derry, and North Shore.

that is funny- you cannot compare The STARS and NEFC Pride to PASA!

                                Whatever

We are in year three of club soccer. Observationally, its funny to watch parents, kids or coaches point fingers and say who should beat who. For a large majority of our games, (G-U12)...the games are decided by 1 goal. Wins and losses put teams into the various divisions but it seems like development now falls behind those wins and losses (most clubs not any in particular).

We played the old Explosion group and I could listen to their coach SCREAMING at the ref for a blown call (in his completely unbiased opinion). He would do well to send Christmas cards and thank the official for not tossing him after a minute of that bush league tirade. I'm sure we're just as bad but I don't remember our group telling the girls to hit other kids or like the Pioneer group repeatedly swearing in front of the teams. At least its just for the girls and everyone is making certain its their experience.
