Wow, we haven't even finished shoveling the dirt onto your graves, and your talking about the 2011 State Title. Let's look at the resume. 0-3 against teams outside of CMass (Ludlow, AB, & Hopkinton), piling up massive goal counts on the likes of hapless Fitchburg, and some of the ugliest games ever discussed on this forum in recent weeks, and no, you're not entirely blameless. So why not clam up and wish Ludlow and New Bedford well this weekend, and leave 2011 to 2011.

Oh, for God's sake, CB quit club after his first and only season last year - he couldn't get the job done as a striker. Who knows how effective he'll be after such a bad injury. CS, although a terrific player, is tiny and unlikely to grow much more (he's probably 5'6" & both parents are on the short side). It'll be interesting to see what the plan is for the striker position.

The other poster was correct - these boys can score a lot against weak (pretty much Freshman-JV level) teams, but struggle against well-trained players who can push them around.

I think it will be remembered as the year that Algonquin started the little MPS player tradition.

I agree that it is far too early to talk about next year so let's finish talking about this year. I am amazed at all the trash talking about Algonquin by the rest of Central Mass Division I - if Algonquin is so bad what does that say about Marlboro, Leominster and Wachusett? Every time Algonquin beat another team the excuses were abundant - bad reffing, they made us punch one of their players, if we had so and so playing for us and so on! Good luck to all the teams in the State finals this weekend and to all the negative posters - grow up!!

I guess the answer is that Algonquin isn't "bad," but there definitely are some questions there. I've been following the games across the region, and this is the first time I've read a post-game interview with a coach who basically stated that the wrong team is moving on to the state championship. No negative quotes that I could find from Marlborough, Leominster, Wachusett coaches - on the contrary, they were very complimentary about Algonquin.

It's an issue if you've got a coach who appears to be under the illusion that he is the one responsible for the team winning the CMass title, when we all know that A) outside of Wachusett & Leominster, there's no competition B) his best players are longtime club-trained, he is not the one responsible for their stellar play.

wasnt this the same thing with KM last year, the better team lost? Nice to see he has changed his ways.

You guys are unbelievable! Both teams played great last night!! The ball had chances in both ends! As in every game , one team loses and one team wins. 2-1..very close very competitive game. Ludlow always has good players and should be proud of a well played game, as well as Algonquin. I don't know what your mothers ever taught you but if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all!!
Good Luck to the teams tommorow!

Exactly - someone needs to give KM this advice!! He didn't seem to think that Ludlow played as well as Algonquin. They still won, though.

Any reports from the Bromfield loss? I know there are some Bromfield fans lurking around here...

Unfortunately, the big egos/mouths of Algonquin fans/players tend to get them in trouble. They haven't been able to back up their own hype. To be honest, I wouldn't go around crowing about winning the CMass title - the competition was so poor overall. Algonquin just ends up looking a little ridiculous.

I thought my guys played really, really well tonight." Ok coach, most other coaches in your position would just congratulate the other team on a job well done, wish them luck in the State Championship game, and mention your own team's effort. That would be the mature thing to do.

At least we found out what the excuse is this year. The wind. Last year, TG having the flu. Next year?
Can Man, The Gonk parents, the current coach, you all need to give it a rest.

Gonk needs a new coach. Parents should pressure the AD!

Agreed. (Ok, there's the parent v coach message everyone was waiting for!)
