    From the Worcester Telegram:

WORCESTER — Jose Silva scored to cut the lead to 2-1 with 13 minutes left, but the Tomahawks couldn't get the equalizer and fell, 2-1, to Ludlow in a Division 1 boys' soccer state semifinal tonight at Commerce Bank Field at Foley Stadium.

And the team doesn't have a striker next year.

The fact remains that 4 or 5 kids spent the vast majority of the season on the bench because we can only imagine that the coach did not appear to think they would be an asset on the field (too small?). Would other players have made a difference? We'll never know, but there definitely were some other kids who played a huge role in having an undefeated JV season last year, & never made it onto varsity.

And Algonquin once again didn't make it to the State Championship game.
And the rest of the Central MA teams could not get by Algonquin again...........

I don't know anything about Algonquin and could care less about them. But this board and posters really are too much. They won the Central Division, right? A season can only be successful if you win the entire state tournament? And maybe Ludlow is good. Us easterners will get a good idea from the NB game.

Comparing what players did at JV to a varsity level is like comparing SPAM to a fine steak. Please do us all a favor and go find the can man who travels around Central Mass and spout off your beliefs to him.

A little nonsensical, but seeing as you're obviously the parent of a kid who lost this evening (possibly a small MPS kid?) you deserve some empathy and understanding.

Did you watch the JV team last year?

                Always a bridesmaid, never a bride, Algonquin...sigh...

Algonquin Beat Leominster 4 to 1 the 1st time, then Leominster beat Algonquin 1 to 0 in the 2nd matchup and finally Algoquin beat Leominster in Central MA finals 2 to 0. Not quite sure I follow your point??

You and the Can Man can take over the team next year.

How the hell can you compare a JV team to a varsity. There is a reason why your kid played JV last year. Because he was not good enough to make varsity.

Gonk parents. Such a special breed.

Just a thought: maybe they should lose the hair bleaching ritual next year (would it be considered "hazing" now?) - just for superstition's sake. It certainly looks ugly under the lights.

Snappy comeback, but no, he was a starter. He's one of those kids who wants to see his team do well and kids get a chance to show their stuff. It's not all about him, he's just as happy to see a teammate score.

The Can Man and you will then make a fine coaching duo next year.
