Forum Reality Show - Name that Troll !

The forum is pretty much devoid of anything positive and amounts to a series of attacks on identified or identifiable clubs, coaches and even players by malcontent adults, hiding behind "guest" . The missing piece is the identification of the trolls. In many cases I will bet that those on the receiving end know exactly who is the troll. Do MPS know who has it in for them? Do Scorpions and Crusaders know who is slinging the mud each way? Do the Stars Rovers know who is behind the campaign against them? Do Blackhawks know who is trying to denigrate their young player and her parents? Do the parents of the U14 boys that left Bolts for Blazers kids know who vindictively posts against them? As a public service maybe the people responsible need to be outed the same way as the players, coaches and clubs. Would you want them coming to your kid's team? Absolutely not!

What got me thinking is that this has actually started already with a series of "thanks xxxxx" or "play nice xxxxx" quotes on various threads.

It could go either way. The fear of outing may promote less troll postings or it may just inflame the situation. However, I don't see why bitter and hateful adults should get away with it with no recourse.

    Thoughts??

The trolls will post names just to sling mud, right now the names have been left out. It will just open pandora's box if they "oust individuals"

Argue the merits of the post. It doesn't matter who posted it or why. If you don't like a post and think it is trolling, it might be that you inferring something that is not there. Allowing an uninhibited exchange of ideas and views, even if it is appauling to your sensibilities, is much more interesting than hearing from the same characters who bash each other for no other reason other than they have a history as posters which pre-determines a bias even before their ideas are exchanged. No thanks. This works for me.

This forum has become a nearly complete waste of time. It is basically a bunch of immature get a life adults trading insults. It is really discouraging to think that these people are raising children. No wonder this country is in such a mess. We are a nation of a-holes.

I have an a-hole, but I am certainly not an a-hole.

But I believe I was once called an asshat by you in an earlier post.

Every time I post I prefer to try to post something positive. Yes, there are some negative feelings about the way some people handle themselves but like I always tell my son " if you do as they do then you have sunk to their level". So in this forum, as well as everything in life, you have a choice of which direction you want to go in. I believe hiding behind the name "guest" and taking cheap shots is the easy way out. It requires less critical thinking and is designed to just hurt. And, just as in life, you earn respect from how you handle yourself.

Anyways, I do think there are a few of us here.....including some who register as "guest", who do contribute positive things. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Guest. Maybe George Mitchell is available now to investigate.

Sorry, but they are on your team (and club). They are on every team.
