My son's major social group at any given time is whomever he's playing sports with that season. (That does not mean he doesn't have a group of other friends but this is in addition) My daughter develops deeper and longer lasting friendships on her teams and those are the ties that bind.

What a statement
Posts like that are creating a bad rep for the Stars....Jason would be
p!ssed. But thats ok because all these 'fabulous' Stars players will be playing right alongside the rest of the world (Those who are Non-Stars) and grow up to think their crap doesnt stink. What goes around comes around.

My child was the driving force in a recent team change. Wasn't happy with the style of play, playing time, and team dynamics.
Mom and Dad didn't agree, but supported the decision. To date kid is right. :?
Darn.

I hate so say this but I very much doubt a Stars parent wrote this stuff. You cannot judge any club on here because we have really no idea who is posting what. This is probably someone trying to cause trouble for Stars. It is no different than someone trying to cause trouble for Scorpions on another thread. Someone posing as an MPS coach for a GK.

This is an absolutely disgracefull statement. People have such an agenda on this forum against certain clubs. Its amazing what some vile parents will post. These are kids just like yours. This forum needs to be closed down. Moderater you need to start stepping in.

Posts like that are creating a bad rep for the Stars
Thats exactly the point. Posts on this forum are by people who have nothing to do with the club and want to create a bad rep for the club they mention. Its no different for Stars, Scorps, MPS or Bolts. Just a bunch of jealous people trying to cause trouble. The best thing is to not reply to them. On a daily basis this forum goes downhill and the posts get more and more vindictive to individuals and clubs. Something has to be done or it will just be closed down like the Gotsoccer forum recently was.

Although our child had a few valid concerns that had already been discussed by them with the coach and DOC, Mom and Dad wanted them to stick it out. It was an emotional and complicated decision.
Don't assume our child's move had a huge impact on the old team. Our kid isn't Pele or Mia.

This is the third thread that went this direction in as many days and people - who hate to admit it - have in fact admitted that these postings are unlikely to be by Stars parents. This started with a post buried in a paragraph about a boys team!!!!!!
Good luck to all the players this spring.

Everyone spends so much time defending and correcting others I can not keep track of what you are complaining about. I made the above original post - if it upset others I am sorry. I can not tell if this is the post people are complaining about or not. This post is buried among a post about a lot of teams and clubs, it has nothing specific to say about the Stars club.
that have not moved over does not mean that they will move over. My point is that if they do not move over, than the Stars teams are not Destination Teams (that was the original thread subject). The Stars team could be a great team, a national championship team, but it would not, IMHO, be a Destination Team because the success would not have been achieved through a lot of player transfers. I wrote that a Destination team, IMHO, is a team of All-Stars from various clubs that come together to form a super team. The U17B Blazers is very close to that type of team, IMHO, because they consistently beat every other team in the State, and compete very well Regionally.
Now someone is going to argue that Destination Teams are not ideal and if the Stars, or any other club, can form, train and win at the Regional and National level without a lot of transfers, than that is a preferred team building format. OK that might be right, but that is not what the thread was set up to discuss. Like or dislike Destination Teams, the thread is about what a Destination Team is or isn't, the thread was not set up to discuss what is the preferred team building format, so I am not commenting on my preferred team building format, only what I think a Destination Team is.
I know Fred and Guests are well intentioned, but constant praise is as distracting as the constant jabs. Let's avoid all personal comments, well intentioned or not, and just discuss soccer. Let's also assume that the other posters are well intentioned, are attempting to post intelligent responses, and ignore all personal comments, nice comments or otherwise. In the old Touchline the posters registered, and assumed the best of each other and did not have to criticize or praise each other. If you look at this Talking-Soccer forum there are a lot more posts due to the Guest option, but although the volume of posts have increased, the volume of constructive, informed, intelligent soccer posts has decreased.
