I think there is only one destination team, the U17B Blazers, but the movement in that case may have decreased as the team aged - I am not sure of the specifics. Clearly the U17B Blazers team had to add a few more players this year because of the split with the Bolts, but if they had not split, then there probably would have been few, if any, additions. But the Stars teams only add a couple each year, clearly less than I would expect to create a Destination Team. For the U14 and U15 Stars teams there are still some quality players at other clubs that have not moved over (I assume U14 is considered "early"). So possibly it is different for Bs and Gs, the Bs (see the Bolts and FC United U13B merger this year) tend to move more quickly than the Gs?
    What a statement

What does this say about the boys side? If true, it is an example of the stupidity that exists out there since boys mature more slowly then girls.
It's not what makes them ready to play soccer, it's what makes them ready to move. The social aspect is just more fungible for boys - in general.

My son's major social group at any given time is whomever he's playing sports with that season. (That does not mean he doesn't have a group of other friends but this is in addition) My daughter develops deeper and longer lasting friendships on her teams and those are the ties that bind.

Laughy face response -- did you really mean to imply that there are no quality players at the U14 and U15 age group on other Massachusetts club teams because if they were quality players they would be at the Stars??!! That can't possibly be what you are saying.......

Not sure your point, but in most cases it is the parents, whether the parents of boys or the parents of girls, determining what teams their children play. It would appear that the parents of boys are quicker to change teams then the parents of girls.

Because the girls will put up a fight and the boys don't care.

I thought I had seen it all when it came to over-the-top soccer parents posting on this forum, but this one truly takes the cake. Hopefully you are not serious (and are not a Stars parent) because if so I feel very sorry for you (and your kids) (not to mention your poor reflection on a quality club).

Altogether now, the rest of the sane people here: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!

Again Cujo has had the last word, my question is though how do you know they will not be playing hwen they are 30 years old. What if one of these players goes onto to play for a womens pro team. So Cujo here is your 1-52pm reality check you are not always right.
3,000,000 aged 17 playing soccer. 26 openings on US WNT and approx. 160 openings in the Womens league (many to be filled by foreigners). Do the math.

This is very true in my experience. Maybe it goes along with that gritty personality it takes to play this game, the girls do dig in their heels and I think are much more likely to want to stay with friends and enjoy just playing the game no matter the prestige of another club. Or maybe it's just an inability (or unwillingness) to see the long-term picture -- or they know something we don't, I think it's probably the latter.

NH and RI do seem to contribute a few players these days. No luck from CT, VT or ME.

By responding you just feed the troll. It is all done to just "wind you up". Ignore it.

Lots of good analysis of boys versus girls. In my experience the boys hate to lose, and if they feel they are better, they push the parents to play for a better team. Girls like the social aspect, so even if they are competitive, they hang with their existing team longer. But the girls move in the long run too.

Why does everything on this forum come back to awful parents living through their kids? Some kids actually want to win and play at the highest level possible for them. The kids that strive for excellence are called "athletes". Others are athletes as well, but any successful athlete has to have a drive to succeed. Don't pretend that every parent is bad and always pushing the kid.

The original post said boys go to the destination teams earlier then girls, yet the destination teams can't be accurately determined until much later then girls because they mature later. That should mean a constant flux of players on boys teams. Is that the case?

In my experience it is rare to see a kid being the driving force. In the cases where that is true, if it is pursuit of excellence as you suggest on the part of the kid, then that makes sense to me. I think sometimes it may be more peer pressure...a kid hears his friends are doing something or he wants in with the "cooler" group. On the other hand, even if a team is not dropping to D2, if a kid competitive-wise should be on a more competitive team, then I think the coach and club should even facilitate a move if it is in best interest of the kid (I'm talking about a clearly superior kid where not doing so really would be holding the kid back).
