Haven't seen the game (or highlights) yet, but according to Fox Soccer Channel, Donovan missed an easy goal today that would have gotten Everton a tie with Tottenham. Hopefully he won't lose confidence.

open goal form 2 yards. he seemed to hit it with his sole instead of instep and just ht the side netting!

Back down to earth for Donavan. Typical amateurish American effort on a very easy chance to score. World class my ... They are ready to send him home now.

Just watched the highlights. Don't know how he played after coming off the bench. It was a bad miss as the team desperately needed the goal. But to be fair, the ball had some speed and the angle is a little small although it was a open goal. Everton is not a very strong team anyway so a loss to Hotspur is not too surprising.

0-0 sometimes can be fun game too. The result is not too bad for Fulham, just came back from a mid-week trip to Urkraine and play away game with rested Sunderland.

Drogba stunk this weekend. Ready to send him home, too?

                Very clumsy miss!

SHOCKER! Jack Rodwell is in space in the area and arrows a shot towards the far corner. It deflects off the defender but Landon Donovan is at the far post and a yard out. He must score... but no, he's put it in the side netting. He has his hands over his face - as does David Moyes, who cannot believe his eyes

Sometimes, but there wasn't a single shot on goal in that game.

Ummm... don't you think Drogba is a proven commodity? If Everton could get Drogba instead of Donovan, I'd imagine they would. Nobody's saying LD should be sent home, are they? Just saying the accolades might be a little premature. He still needs to acclimate and prove himself, and he may not have enough time to do so.

LD had a great start but faded a bit due to fatigue etc. I don't think Everton's hassling style of play fits him very well. He doesn't have extrordinary skills but is relatively game smart. He'll fit better in more tactically sound teams like ManU or even Fulham.

Donovan is the only one to miss an open net? These are far worse.

Everton never has the money and always sell the best young players. they make do with what they can afford. at least they are financially sound, which is not the case for several clubs now.

Donovan did not show much threat just as the whole team. He got subed out early in 2nd half. Fulham right now is more fun to watch. Another EPL team featuring american now is Bolton with Holden.
Holden is starting for Bolton and playing very well. He's got a very good freekick/cross not unlike Beckham's. He should have no problem staying in EPL.

Donovan did nothing against the Netherlands.
