I saw in the SunSentinal from Fl that they had the game time listed at 7:30am, so maybe there is some pregame talk.

Barely noticed that Donovan was even playing. What a non-performance.

All of everton were non-performers. Donovan definitely faded in the final 20 minutes

Sounded like it was a pretty ugly game.

How could he have faded from nothing? He didn't do anything the first 70 either!?!

It would kill people to actually admit that Donovan has been playing pretty well for Everton.

He has been playing well, but he really was a non-factor all game today. Saw little of the ball and what he little he did was unimpressive.

disagree. Donovan looked good, he had more pace and skill than most on the field. I only watched the first half, though, ugly game

Donovan has been reviewed favorably by the commentators since his first start three weeks ago. He has been a positive factor for Everton in every game so far.

Correct. But they didn't review him favorably in today's game, and it was obvious to see
                        why not.

Did you watch the game? He was noticeably absent -- and the commentators said so!

Sky sports rated him Everton's best player. Does not speak well for Everton, but here is the link. http://www.skysports.com/football/us...150891,00.html As an upnote to the USMNT, Josy Altidore scored his first goal for Hull today in beating MC. Seems to be playing better.

OK. Donovan wasn't as much of a factor yesterday. But he did set up at least one of their rare chances by running at the defender and drawing a foul just outside the 18. He also sent a couple of the few diagonal switches in the midst of the slugging and thugging going on along the vertical paths of the field. We're not going to bash him for one game during which none of his teammates stood out as stars, are we? Liverpool didn't look great yesterday, either. Some hard physical work but not great futbol. Still, I'm not ready to dump on Gerrard, are you? A retro game all around.

In the first half, Donovan beat Gerard 100% of the time.
