For the top schools its like fishing in a barrel." So the parents who don't think this is "nuts" are sending their daughters for that reason. My only question would be whether the majority of parents realize that their daughters are supporting the aspirations of a select few that will actually be recruited and signed to these top programs, whose initial attention to these coaches comes via their national team and regional team experience. The rest of them will most likely end up playing at schools within their immediate region. So for the vast majority, they are putting their time and effort into making the process easier for the college coaches, but not necessarily easier for themselves or their daughters. It's great, though, being able to chat around the water fountain at work how your daughte was exposed to hundreds of college coaches.

There may be a conflict of interest as regards the head of CFC. He is a college coach.

So I'm looking at the colleges that the CFC girls 2010 class have chosen to go to per the NCAA recruiting web site. There are 17. Two went to Yale, 2 went to Manhattan, 2 went to Villanova. The rest went to Columbia, St. Peter, Northeastern, Boston College, Rhode Island, Providence, Dartmouth, Holy Cross, Fairfield, UMass, Stony Brook and the farthest Wake Forest. I don't see how the CFC guy can rationalize the travel with that line up of schools. For Chrissake, some of these girls could walk to school.

It's a great way to kill two birds with one stone. That club might save parents and the schools they work for a lot of money just by inviting teams to come play in front of the staff coaches.

Aren't there some NCAA rules governing this?

34 degrees today with likely snow mid day here in College Station. Anyone think this can benefit the MA teams?

5 of the 17 CFC 2010s will attend colleges coached by their club staff. Should that be considered a large number?

Regarding CFC, why would you care?

Lets get 15 college coaches together in violation of NCAA rules and stick it in their faces for the last 10 years.Sure.

                      Where's the conflict?

BTW I am not associated with CFC in any way.

Looking at CFCs 2009 it was 9 of 22 plus 3 who went to Central Conn. The farthest that year was Elon. The vast majority of CFC players are staying pretty close to home.

Look at it from a player's perspective.

Let's say I am a solid player but not a NT player. My club coach is also the coach of Univ X. I would like to go to Univ Y that happens to be the archrival of Univ X. Do I get a fair shake at Univ Y?

I don't know whether it makes much difference or not, but it looks like CFC only sent one team to Texas and that was their U18 team and considering Stars United U17 was the only Stars team to go, it makes me think that the only club putting a great deal of value on the recruiting aspects of the tournament in this forum would have to be Scorpions.
