Everybody has to figure out what's best for themselves and go for it. If there is another player leaving for another club, more power to them. Stars 14s just recruited a great player, and unlike a lot of teams have the depth that the addition or subtraction of a player or two won't change their game too much.
I take exception to whoever posted that Stars trash is someone elses treasure. First these are kids and that poster is an ass. They are impact players. Unlike Stars, the addition of some of these players to a couple of very good D1 teams can greatly improve a team's average skill level. Stars have great training and a lot of these kids were strong in their own right before coming to Stars.

Neither girl worked for GC's team. Both unhappy. So both left. Big deal. Team is better with absences. They are hopefully happier where they have gone. End of story.

Team is about the team rather than individuals, and from what I've seen the team is just fine.
For the individuals, everyone needs to find what makes them happy and go for it, and nothing works for everyone.

Now granted, MPS and Seacoast are not exactly known as powerhouse goal scoring teams but the Patriots had put a total of 6 goals past Fuller/Explosion/Scorpions prior to getting shut out by the Stars in the finals.
Any way you look at it, the Stars are one of the top teams in the region and for the other U14G teams in New England, the represent the yard stick to measure yourself against.
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostFunny. I have a daughter that plays U14 and she and I don't measure her team in terms of the Stars. If their team plays well relative to themselves, that's all they can do. Right?
Stars are a good team, but its not the team or situation that anyone or everyone need aspire to. I expect them to do well, and I know they have great training and very strong kids. It's almost a little sad that they are so stacked because any little mis-step is viewed as a big failure, and these are just 13 and 14 year olds who get to screw up once in a while.
The Stars experience, even with a different coach, is not for everyone. Not every girl wants to give up other sports, practice 3 days per week practically year round and not every parent wants to pay for it all. And not every kid is going to thrive under such pressure. For those who choose to do it and like it, its fine. Most girls and parents, even if they have the talent and the money, would not thrive under these circumstances.
When I spoke of the Stars as a yardstick, I wasn't talking about the experience or the coaching, I was talking about the level of soccer, period.
