With the Fall MAPLE season done, and the Icebreaker Tournaments at least 4 months away, lets start one U14G thread to discuss the topics of interest - State Cup, Spring MAPLE, R1PL, ODP etc.

So how do the MAPLE divisions look for the Spring ? Whose in and whose out ?
Any teams other than Stars apply to R1PL ? How about the subretional league ?
Any teams traveling this Winter to tournaments South or West ?
Any players get the seemingly innocent phone call from the Stars coach to "join us for a Winter training session" ?

One tactic Explosion uses is they invite you to participate on a futsal team. It's either a violation of bylaws, or it's close! But they use that as a workaround.

I personally have nothing against recruiting, it's part of the game. I think teams and coaches should operate within the rules.

Not just explosions they all do it. If you contact a team then is that a violation? I think that is what happens.

never a soccer break . can't do basketball. have to pay extra to practice in the little plastc box at acton teamworks 2 move up from fifth place and stay in D1. may have to pay extra so the players can do the beep fitnot test from teamworks 2 the gas station at the prison rotary.what place did scorps finish? hang up if squidward calls.

That is the best advice I've seen on this board in a long time. Dont answer until something changes because you wont be happy with your decision. No complaints about the club but this person really needs to be removed. You cannot imagine the abuse these girls take.

Not with Explosion or even with this age group, but what happens if you want to play futsal and your club doesn't have a futsal team? Are you suggesting a player shouldn't play to avoid the perception that the rules are being broken?

I know the Stars are not planning on doing MAPLE if they get into the Premier league. What about Western ?

Unless your child is having a very poor experience or your team is breaking up, its best to not switch teams mid-year.

Adjusting to a new team and new coach can be difficult and team dynamics and relationships can be really important.

If a specific coach/team is interested in your child now, they will be just as interested in June.

Not just explosions they all do it. If you contact a team then is that a violation? I think that is what happens.

Parents/players are free to contact a coach of a team at any time. That is not against MAPLE rules. However, most clubs ask you to sign a contract that commits them to you for a year and vice versa.

Unless the club is not keeping up their end of the bargain, be very reluctant to teach your child that breaking a committment is OK.
