Stars has a pile of talent and I've no doubt they can make that work. By picking off a strong player here and there and creating migrants out of some others they are probably creating a pool of players that will make at least one of their competitors much stronger. Big stretch it'll be Scorpians, or maybe even Explosion, both of whom wouldn't need too much to continue beating Stars. Western is very good but not as likely to pick up only due to travel.

If you had asked "What are the chances of the Bolts U14 girls team making the State Cup Round Robin ?" that would be a fair question.
Answer - 50/50. They have to beat Fuller Hamlets to get there. Having seen both teams play this past Fall, its a toss up.

Here is my prediction. The Stars will continue to modify roster every season/year with lots of current stars parents being very disappointed. The truth is that when former players leave this team and are no longer in GC's system they are average players at best. Sorry, it's a fact and 100% true. The team is currently filled with players who at one time played for other teams and their parents are not going to allow their daughters to take a back seat to anyone if they can help it. I strongly think that this stars team is a disaster from within just waiting to happen. The Scorpions should do better because up to this point they have been weak and can only go up. Their roster will change dramatically over the next year or so and their parents who were so happy to get Westerns R1 spot will be very sad and disappointed when they are on the outside looking in. Explosion has some good players and a good coach but having big clubs competing for players will hurt them in the long run. Western is very strong with a good coach and should be there in the end but location will not bring to many strong players their way.

Let me see if I understand your comments.
Stars team is a "disaster waiting to happen" as they continue to attract some of the best players in the state/region to this team AND have an outstanding coach who has never dealt with "parents thinking their daughter should be the Star". It's amazing to read comments that GC won't know what to do with all the midfielders. To be competitive at the regional and national level, teams need to be deep. The players need energy left after they get out of the pool play in tournaments. In addition, some of these midfielders on this team have played other positions besides midfield for both the regional team and at that national camp. I know there are some people that are hoping that this team doesn't come together. I hope they do and look forward to seeing if they can compete with the top teams in Region 1.
The Scorpions should do better because up to this point they have been week and can only go up...brilliant observation.
Explosion does have some good players. However, not unlike Black Watch, players will leave and/or get injured as the season goes along. Injuries happen with all teams. Explosion, like some of the other team do not have the depth to overcome any injury to a key player and would have trouble in tournament play with games played on consecutive days.

Stars are building a team to be successful at regional and national tournaments with 18 strong players. While this is a formula for success, it is difficult to make it work, given the strong personalities involved.
No one wants to be on bench, especially players that migrated from a situation in which they were the central focus of their previous team. At U17, when the team is playing more for college exposure than for wins, this might be OK, provided the coach gives enough playing time to the bottom of the roster, but at U14 playing time and the addition of new players mid-season causing former starters to sit may be major disruptions.

Sad but True
I'm sorry to say that half of the current Stars players will no longer be on the team at U-17. Just ask your coach, everyone can and may be replaced. However, you keep writing those checks so at U-16-17 when it matters the team will be in all the top tournaments so my kid will be showcased. I'd like to say it isn't true but everyone knows who the top players in the age group are and the reality is that most of them do not play for the Stars. I do think they have a few great players and the newest additions will definently help, but the rest are average.

Anything less than an undefeated MAPLE season, SC Champs, and Reg champs should be considerd a failure by this Stars team. They will have a good showing at Nationals but are still 1-2 players away maybe from winning it. They are that good now and perhaps better than any team that has ever compete at U14 coming ot of Mass. Enjoy the thrill ride ladies and gentelmen.

I wish the team well and any team from Mass to do well. I do think you are getting ahead of yourself though. I still think other Ma teams will give them a run and there are some very talented teams in Region 1.
