Be honest, if any of you had a player that had made it to the national team wouldn't you be looking out for her best interest? Getting her on a team that is participating in ECNL was a must. The only other ECNL options in the area are FSA Soccerplus & Connecticut Football club. The next best thing to ECNL with the Stars would be ECNL with PDA and that is just too far to go. Cut the parents of the player some slack, I am sure this was not an easy decision for them to make.
This girl should have finished out the year with Blackwatch. She made a commitment to that team and she should have honored it. She could go to the Stars tryouts in June and not miss a minute of time in the ECNL since they don't play in that league until U15 anyway. And if she is in the national pool she is getting plenty of exposure with that. All she has done is screw her BW teammates. When are we going to teach our kids that when we make a commitment we should honor it. Seems to me we are raising a bunch of self-centered brats!

Yeah, that's right she screwed them cuz she drives herdelf to the practices and games. She also funds her club fees are her own as well. Leave the kid alone. Pick on the parent's if you must.

The western crowd is down right furious about this move. The wu parents/coach have been telling anybody who will listen that this was going to be their year. Sorry for them. On a separate note, the Stars parents are telling everybody they can about this "wonderful news" (that is how it was being described at ODP) and how the team will win the Region 1 championship. Good stuff from the collective worst group of parents ever. Keep it coming screwballs. Explosion is still the steam to beat

There are very few stars players at odp so this is an interesting comment. There are very few parents who are describing this as "wonderful news". We are not counting on that region 1 championship because we know what is ahead and it is not looking good. It all looks good only on paper.

What is SC doing wrong? This seems to be a common problem with teams he's coached at this age.

didn't the team add the NH Midfield Seacoast ODP player this winter also? I thought the United team was a very good team? Why the additions?

then "few" are making alot of noise. Good luck to this player her family and Stars for that matter. I just shake my head at adults who treat such young kids like pro athletes. It is just wrong on so many levels

OK, so it is the parents who are self-centered and living vicariously through their daughter's success. But the point is that they are NOT teaching their child to honor her commitment's. And don't tell me that 14 year olds aren't able to make ethical decisions -- they are. But they do look to their parents for guidance.

OMG! How can Stars parents be telling anybody anything at ODP when everyone on this board keeps saying that their kids are not "allowed" to play ODP. What BS.

Celebratory texting to anybody and everybody. Why are you so defensive? You, a stars parent, have been spreading the news yourself. "OMG"...look in the mirror you goof.

Again do not believe what you read on here, I very much doubt any kid at the Stars been told they are not allowed to play ODP.
