Total roster of 20-22.
One group plays RIPL and state cup
One group plays MAPLE
Core of 12-13 players overlap both
Let the bottom 10 or so fight it out for a roster position next year
Good system if you are primarily concerned with winning
Good system if your kid is a top player and does not mind the drama
Bad system for team chemistry
Bad system for player development except for a select few
R1PL rosters not due til early March so movement can still occur.
Wouldn't it be interesting if the BW player played for Stars in MAPLE and BW in R1PL and RI state cup ?
The laboratory is bubbling up with 19 official players. How will the rosters be wangled this year?
The collector is collecting. Soccer is a team sport and a team of individuals cannot win games forever. Let the infighting begin.
Yes kids are looking to jump ship, with 13 players, he's going to have problems in region one. Whats that old saying what goes around comes around. It's what what happens when you try to build around one player. Loyalty is a cruel thing.
We just wish the kids and the parent on BW the best of luck.

So which Stars central midfielder will be sitting to make room for her ? She isn't coming to platoon with two others, that is for sure.
As has been pointed out previously, if true, this move makes the Stars incrementally stronger on paper, but devastates BW. Its only an incremental improvement because the Stars midfield was pretty strong to begin with. And its only on paper because it remains to be seen if the Stars are a TEAM or a collection of very strong individual PLAYERS.

Good points. Parents on the team know the deal with him and are waiting to see who will pay for his latest acquisition. It is becoming a collection as already pointed out. This has not been a TEAM for awhile.

Stars MF are pretty strong, but not like that. Incremental like winning region 1 would be a good thing.
Tough for BW. They have another really strong player that has been tied at the hip to the other. Interesting.
I don't think the Stars midfielders are that much behind her. Sure she is a National team pool player, and her ball skills are second to none, but I have seen the Stars play BW several times and the Stars midfielders shut her down pretty well. Granted that had much to do with the supporting casts on each team but her role on BW was very different than the role she should expect to play on Stars.
The Stars are not a National pool midfielder away from a Region 1 title.
They are a National pool striker away.
And based on their result in CT in November, they are a Region 1 title contender without any new additions.

One player that was playing up has been moved to the age appropriate Stars team at U-13. No one was cut to make room for this player. This was a smart move by the BW players parents. National team players need an avenue to the ECNL & she was not going to get that with Blackwatch. Be honest, if any of you had a player that had made it to the national team wouldn't you be looking out for her best interest? Getting her on a team that is participating in ECNL was a must. The only other ECNL options in the area are FSA Soccerplus & Connecticut Football club. The next best thing to ECNL with the Stars would be ECNL with PDA and that is just too far to go. Cut the parents of the player some slack, I am sure this was not an easy decision for them to make.
