We all travel to our away games, so why would it be so difficult to get Clubs to show up to a facility, lets say within 45 minutes of your home? I can't wait to hit megabucks.

Have you counted the number of Maple teams lately? There are not enough indoor fields in MA for Maple to have a winter season. This leaves the clubs on their own to organize winter leagues, and those with indoor facilities end up completing with each other.

I guess it is OK to put together an invitation only tournament. I don't really know why I am posting this except to ask that why more of these highly competetive small tournaments aren't put together by Clubs that have the facilities? Not to mention the Club that is putting this on is doing it at one of the opponents home facilities. Another thing is that it seams that there should be some kind of winter league or indoor Club soccer set up to get these kids playing competively year round. Nationally it seams as though our state does pretty well, can you imagine if we had the facilities to play all year like most of our competition.

The SFVikings put this together at the Aztecs home indoor facility and were nice enough to invite them along with Galway Rovers and ACArlington. Everyone showed up and every game they played was very competetive. All the teams showed the most respect for eachother. I wish we could play in more tournaments like this. My hats off to LR the BU-11 Vikings Mgr for a great job. $200 got us 4 -25 minute games in 4 hours and winter hats for every kid and coach. The effort was truly worth it for our kids.

That's pretty sad. My son plays on a Maple D1 team which has winter training sessions open to interested players. Players from other clubs come & wear the club's practice jerseys. Nope, nobody's trying to steal players, before anyone comments to that effect. It's supposed to be fun, people.
