Rev's are done, a merciful end to the season for a rather poor edition of he team.

Done in by an old, fat guy. Tell me his composure in front of the net isn't something you'd like to see bottled so you could give it to your kid.

Yes, that's true, but I would NOT like to see my kid flop around like he's been hit by a cannon everytime he is shoulder checked. He steps in the way of passing player, who bumps him in the shoulder, then flies wildly to the ground holding his..... mouth?? And gets a card issued to the other player? Unfortunately this is a common sight when this guy is on the field, and it undoes all the other great things he does for me.

Watched the game last night, the full house created a great atmosphere for their team. After coming out trying to play positive football, the revs retreated into the bunker and the play not to lose mentality.Chicago's game plan seemed to be keep the ball away from Sharie and Jeff and we will burn them on the Flanks (especially heaps!) All in all I think Nicoll did well with a cast of very raw young players, a number of re threads, and some guys well past their sell by date. It makes you wonder what he could do if given the funds.KRAFT PLEASE SELL THE TEAM!!!! The Kraft's have little interest in soccer, wont finance the team and everybody knows, were dragged kicking and screaming into the DAP program by a mandate. Look at the difference in Seattle with the likes of Drew Carey. It can be done, but the truth is with the Revs the emperor has no clothes and fans know that and have little interest in a team held together by band aids, playing in a cavernous stadium backed by owners who clearly could give a *hit

I love the whole "Kraft sell the team" mantra. To who? Who's gonna buy them? Where will they play? There are many things about the way the Krafts run the team that drive me nuts. Yes, I'd like to see a designated player. Yes, I'd like to see us be able to hold on to guys like Dorman and Dempsey and Parkhurst. Yes, I'd like to see a Revs-only stadium. Yes, I would have liked it had they started marketing to adults and not just to youth groups sooner than they have. But the reality is this - since 2001, the Revs have been in four MLS Cup title games, two other Eastern Conference finals, two Open Cup finals (winning one), and a SuperLiga final (which they won), and still people in the New England soccer community don't support the organization. If a qualified ownership group with a solid plan to put a quality product out on the field, build the brand, and develop a stadium steps forward, great. But to my knowledge there is NO ONE out there who has ever inquired about buying the team.

Without the Krafts, we never get the World Cup in 94 or the Revs. That isn't being an apologist - its a fact. A desginated player, holding onto the better US talent we have, and a soccer stadium are what this team needs, and I want to see Kraft invest in those things sooner rather than later, and until someone steps up and makes Kraft an offer he can't refuse, we as fans need to continue to demand better, but the reality is the team has been fairly succesful on the field over the last decade, and people still complain and don't show up regularly, whereas for the Sox, Pats, C's, and B's, as soon as the team becomes succsful in games, people start going more often. I vividly remeber times when all of the big four sports teams in Mass. didn't even come close to selling out all the time, but teams start winning more then losing regularly, and fans come out. I realize we all know MLS isn't the EPL, but it isn't going to be anytime soon no matter what Kraft, or any other imaginary owner, does in the short term.

Good post. I agree with all your points. People ought to ask themselves, would they prefer no MLS team in New England? If the answer is yes, continue to stay at home. If the answer is no, then get out there and support the team.

No interested buyers because the model is flawed, the owners own the league so although they seem to "compete" on the field they are more concerned with the overall success of the league, which may have sounded like a good idea 10 years but now, I think, has turned into a terrible one. How would you like to buy a team for 50 million add a stadium for 150 mil then have to be subject to run your team by committee? You cant sell players you cant buy players and you have to play them nothing. The Krafts probably see the lack of upside in investing any more than they have already have blown and may even see this as a bad investment, hence the reluctance to spend.

I admit this is just me being easily annoyed, but it drives me nuts whenever I see "the MLS" in print or hear someone say it. It is just "MLS". You wouldn't say "the Major League Soccer" would you? Nor would you say "the MLB" or "the Major League Baseball". Its just a pet peeve of mine and I wish people would stop doing it.
