These same athletes would not qualify for any D1 scholarships because the athlete would not meet the hormone level requirements to qualify as a female.
If you're so worried Suzy will lose in track, sue the state. But you won't because you probably don't even have a daughter. If you did the likelihood of it every impacting her life is virtually nil.

Two CT girls missed out on qualifying for the New England championships because two boys took their spots. Before the State Open championships even began, it was a lock that two deserving girls would be shut out and have no chance of qualifying for New Englands (barring a false start by either of the boys). Both boys run in the same division, so two girls in that division also missed out on the state open championship.

Imagine the outrage on this site if, for example, in the Class LL girls soccer tournament, it was announced that two boys teams would be competing. The two boys teams would without question make the finals (please don’t even try to say that would not happen). Could you even imagine the Staples, Ridgefield and Glastonbury parents reactions to that.

Don't we have better things to do then get outraged about imaginary scenarios that will never happen?

Nothing discussed on this site would qualify as “better things to do”. You just don’t feel like discussing it so you make a statement like you just did...

How can you say it will never happen? The track scenario happened, it was reality. How would you feel if your daughter missed out on something she worked hard for over her HS career because boys were competing against her? Please answer honestly.

Absolutely correct. It is actually happening. And it's not just track.

There is no coherent way to square (1) having separate competitions for females with (2) allowing transgender females to compete in those competitions. If you think that biological males have an advantage, then transgender females shouldn't be permitted. And if you don't think that biological males have an advantage, then there's no reason to break competitions out by gender.

An over reaction to something that happens less than .5% of the time. And if you all are so upset contact your state legislators. Bitc*ng on TS won't do a thing other than let you vent

Probably would not even pursue their interest 8i sports to avoid the likes of angry closeted transgenders like you.
You are not talking a ratio of 400-500 to 0-3. How many girls teams does a school of 400 or 500 have? How many girls play on those teams.

I have several family members teaching in an urban junior high school. You'd be surprised at the number of kids suffering from gender dysphoria in schools today.

The US women's soccer team get slaughtered playing U16 boys club teams for a reason.
Just read the Australian women's national team lost 7-0 to a U15 boys team. I believe Australia is ranked #5 in the world at the moment.

Yea, about the same percentage are traumatized when picking between mens/womens bathroom! But the "progressives" insist this is an issue we all have to address by adding new bathrooms? Liberals are destroying this country one step at a time

if Caster, a cryptorchid, was a racehorse she'd be running with the males not the females.
That's an interesting comment to make which I believe proves this is driven by ideology and not science.

The issue is the small number of specifically male to female transgenders in high school that are also athletes that want to compete on girls teams. there are a few of those but is it a small few. just not enough to have affected enough people with a negative view of it to garner tons of outrage. Obviously you are outraged - we get that. But you are part of a very small group.

Again - not too many people are discussing this. Most of the women I know use and have used in the past - the men's room many times. Lines are shorter and no one really cares that much other then a few really uptight folks. When you gotta go you gotta go.

I am the OP, a woman who has played sports and who has daughters who play sports and likely to have someday granddaughters who plays sports, and I am very concerned by this as are many other woman who have been involved in sports over the years. Some of them can tell you what it was like for girls who wanted to play sports before Title IX came to be. The athletic opportunities that have come to females thanks to Title IX are being eroded by allowing those born male to compete against those born female. I agree it's as the result of political ideology and not science. The fact of the matter is little has been done in terms of studies because the belief has been this is a rare oddity and it's just women's sports anyway, so who cares? Well I care and it's no longer a rare oddity. In our effort to be accepting to the transgender population more and more are coming out and more and more want to play sports with the gender they identify.
