You better sincerely hope that the economic downturn being projected by a growing number of economists does not manifest itself. There are some concerning signs rising. If they prove accurate and those tariffs remain in place, it won't take very much for most Americans outside his most rabid core base to turn away from him. He cannot win with that base alone. Economic downturn, coupled with all the other controversy he has generated and his ever growing mountain of lies about so many things will ensure his demise. The economy is truly all he has, and that's mostly in the macro sense. There are many who simply don't feel they have been bettered by his tax cut and that won't have any lasting impact for him at the ballot box.

Then you have a growing rumble from the younger voters across the country, who connect with that more progressive agenda. Their time has come and over the next decade they will assume the leadership within much of our Congress as well as at the state and local levels. Their generation will lead this nation for a time, as did the Silent Majority, Boomers and Gen Xers have. It's time for the Millennials now and they will be followed by Gen Z, which is even more progressive minded as a whole.

The times are changing, just as they always have. Trump and most of us in that same age group are on our way out.
