Nero fiddling as Rome burns...
Originally posted by Unregistered View Postyou are right...we normally have such a l@te unsolicited mail in voting process thrust upon us at the last minute...we also 0ften have polling stations refusing access during the counting of the b&llots...and normally politicians @rbitrarily change election laws without legislative approval...now none of this means that any improprieties can be proven but they certainly are unprecedented and if you do not at least question them and push for reforms then you are un&ble to think critically
I do not think many people(myself included) cond0ned the way the president talked...however, I judged him by his actions rather than his words...even the USA Today finally admitted he did a commendable j0b in foreign policy and with the economy the numbers speak for themselves...it is funny that you must id0lize Trump as you use his actions to justify your own
Conservatives are not going anywhere...they actually picked up voters in this election...as for dems they will not have the anti-Trump vote in the next election...they will be judged on their p0licies and &ctions...and that must sc&re the heck out of them
You are correct in that the times were odd for an election .... There was a pandemic going on (with Trump imitating Pontius Pilate by washing his hands of that problem). Solution = mail in ballots (already in wide use, used by Trump, McEnany etc.) -- good solution as they allow for people to vote while lowering the risk of contracting COVID. Note the right to vote in the US is sacred.... (even though the Constitution did not include that sentiment till it was "Amended")
This of course was a concern for the Repugs.... it meant that many more people would probably end up casting votes than usual and they had spent their lifetimes trying to make voting more difficult... gerrymandering, stuffing committees with loonys, making ridiculous rules that disenfranchise parts of the population, restricting the number of polling stations, cutting back Post Office practices, reducing drop off ballot boxes and locating them in awkward places etc...)
That is partially why Trump was bricking it about Biden being the Dem nominee.... his cheating would have less impact on Biden's large base of supporters. So, of course, he spent much of his time attempting to discredit the system, as it would give him something to complain about when he lost...
These were Trump's actions and his words....(i.e. they are Un-American) That the President of the USA is widely seen as a LIAR who cannot be trusted is problematic for many reasons.
You are correct that "they will be judged on their Policies and Actions..." so apply that perspective to Trump... and lets start with the number of new COVID cases yesterday... another abysmal record ... from an administration without a coherent policy and a leader who plays plays golf instead of working - a Nero fiddling as Rome burns...

Lost in the 3 states that gave him the win (WI, MI and PA) by more than twice the margin in 2016 (about 110K 2016 vs 250K 2020)
The surprise flips in AZ and GA, while close, were icing on the cake. A few states Trump won by large margins in 2016 saw his margin of victory shrink in 2020 - not enough to flip blue that that means a lot GOP voters were sick of him.

For many it's the cult of personality. They think the so called successful businessman they saw on The Apprentice is like them and cares about them. He's neither successful like them or caring about anyone other than himself. They foolishly think he's going to do something for them. The vast majority aren't the top 5% that benefited the most from the tax cuts.
I live here in CT and I don’t see that along the Fairfield corridor, maybe some locals in the valley but not hundreds, maybe a dozen if your lucky. So having friends who supported Trump is not surprising, in the Nutmeg state he did gather 700k in votes and probably 50 own and drive those big azzz trucks with the big azz flags.
FYI.... we do know that one party carries wasaaaaay more racist people than any other. We also know that every Racist group voted for Trump.

Yesterday was Thanksgiving and he attacked a reporter who dared asked him a question about the election. I'm not the biggest Biden fan but at least he's not a dik and he won't ban reporters who ask the wrong questions

Start broadcasts with details of which Repugs have yet to answer questions.... and keep asking them until they answer... I don't want to hear stories about Trump's flatulence ... he LOST ... I want to hear the Repugs trying to justify their present positions ... particularly the wannabe Georgia Senators who have hitched their futures to being Trump Toadies...
