As I sit here and read this nonsense going back and forth. Finger pointing, cyber spittle splashing onto monitors and keyboards in everyone's frenzy to insult and denigrate the opinions of others, I have to wonder what all those Russians and other foreign actors who are deep into Facebook, Twitter, Patreon, YouTube and even perhaps a forum like this one, must be thinking.

They are certainly happy with all this. They watch us snap and tear at each other. They watch us turn on each other and realize that they have accomplished their goal. They have us distracted. They have us tearing at the unity that is supposed to make us the best nation on the planet. They have us insulting each other, playing race cards onto one another like kids dropping playing cards in a game of War. They have helped push us, with a lot of further effort on our part, to a point where we don't trust each other.

They love the KKK. They love the White Supremacists. They love the #MeToo and #BlackLivesMatter organizations. They love Antifa. They love the ongoing baiting that happens between the President and the media. They love as we dig dirt out from decades past about our leaders and use it to smear each other and disrupt the flow of any effective governance by the Executive Branch or the Legislative Branch of our government.

That shooting data set you sited is sliced to prove a biased point. Under Trump there have been more shootings per year and he's on track to far exceed Obama at this rate (kind of like his golf outings.) Trump = 27 in 2.5 years vs Obama 40 in 8 years. There have been fewer deaths per event more recently. Obama had the misfortune of several high count events. Better police training for active shooters has helped lower fatalities. The police at the Walmart shooting last week had just had active shooting training two weeks earlier. The swift response in Gilroy saved countless lives. The shooter was loaded for bear.
