The GOP has plenty of its own dirty money scandals, even worse actually including Russian oligarchs funneling money into GOP candidates and the NRA. They also make full use of PACS and other backdoor trickery. Don't throw stones in glass houses.

A prominent New York hotel magnate who was a top bundler for then-Sen. Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign pled guilty in federal court Thursday to making more than $180,000 in illegal campaign contributions and to witness tampering.

Sant Chatwal, 70, admitted using employees and vendors for his hotels as straw donors to avoid limits dictated by campaign finance law. Investigators also recorded Chatwal telling an associate not to admit that donations were reimbursed, court papers say.

"Without [donations] nobody will even talk to you," Chatwal said in a recorded conversation, according to a criminal information filed in lieu of an indictment in the case (and posted here). "When they are in need of money [unintelligible] the money you give then they are always for you.That's the only way to buy them, get into the system."

different poster - this loser chic used others to write checks to HRC then she'd pay them back to avoid the $2500 limit. That happens in both parties and you can only do it so many times before you run out of friends to use. But she gave a whopping $29,000. If the donations are under multiple names what kind of favor did she think she would curry and with such a small amount? True dirty donors - on both sides - find smarter ways to get real money to candidates and making sure it gets used to their benefit. The Russians funneled millions to the GOP in the last few years. Meanwhile the Trump administration wants to strip away even more rules to hide dark even more than it already is. Both parties use PACs to hide $ as well. Every financial aspect of our elections needs reforming, but meaningful change will never happen when those who benefit write the rules.

Some inmates have no commissary money so yeah it’s a good idea, so that you know- not all criminals in jail/prison are drug dealing murdering rapists.
