The case, as presented to the Supreme Court, has already been decided. The Court ruled that the Colorado Commission managing all this treated the baker unfairly. He very carefully explained today that under our laws, this means charged documented and read before him by the appropriate official, in this case, a judge. The Founding Fathers established a very concise and precise system of checks, balances and blocks to ensure that no branch of our government can become overly powerful in relation to the others. Our system is designed to slow down attempts by the Executive Branch, Legislative Branch or the Judicial Branch of our government to usurp too much power from the others. The 5th and 14th Amendments go far in ensuring this.
Illegal or not, once on our soil, our Constitution clearly defines the rights they have. We need to follow the rule of law.Comment

As for the milk......does anyone realize why Canada puts tariffs on our dairy imports to them? It's because our federal government, in their socialistic zeal, subsidizes the American Dairy industry and thus, creates the opportunity for our farmers to sell across the border for less than domestic Canadian dairy farmers and dairy product manufacturers can sell.
We could make that go away by eliminating farm subsidies for dairy products here and let them compete on the open market. Of course, your milk will cost like $5.99 a gallon, at the minimum.
Fair trade implies not subsidizing domestic industries to artificially keep prices low. Not sure that is practical.
We are not going to win this whole tariff thing......wondering how much the economy suffers for it in the end.Comment
