Solving the issue will take outside the box thinking. Obviously you are not capable of that type of thinking. No one suggested arming all teachers. School security guards right now are a joke. 75 year old retirees. How about biometric safes that can only be accessed by those who are trained, willing and able to protect students. Why is that a dumb idea? Having even one person on campus who could respond in even 5 minutes earlier than a police officer can save lives. No extra cost except the cost of the gun, training and a safe and a stipend for that teacher for the additional responsibility. Most likely you already have a licensed gun owner or retired military person on staff already.

Metal detectors don’t work and are expensive and time consuming. Anyone who wants to shoot kids can pull a fire alarm, get them outside and shoot them or just go at recess or when kids are getting on or off the bus.

Come up with a better solution if you don’t like that one. Oh...and trying to rid the world of guns is a pipe dream. Bad people with bad intentions will get them. Making pot and booze illegal really worked.

So explain the lack of police action? 4 trained cops stayed outside. How did that protect that school? What are they gonna do next time? Wait until the shooter runs out of ammo?
