So San Fran lets illegals vote in school elections? One city, school elections only, in a state that doesn't deny undocumented kids the right to an education. That is hardly a "trend."

The WaPo article? Two year old flawed analysis. Times are different now. Demographics are not in the GOP's favor. Trump isn't doing the party any favors either except for his base.

I agree the abolish ICE thing is a flawed approach but it is an understandable reaction to families being torn apart and kids kept in kiddie jails. Voters approved of Trump reversing it, but now anger is building once again as many children still haven't been reunited with their families. They already missed the deadline with the under 5 kid. Their incompetence in enacting the policy is staggering. Even the post office could do a better job of tracking families.

Similar here. "Decriminalizing" illegal crossing is the beachhead the left is looking to maintain. From that point the desire is to allow more liberal immigration. IMHO eventually open borders. The more progressive members of the Dems have dropped the pretense. They are advocating for the abolishment of ICE and open borders. As the Dems move further left, they will become more honest about open borders. I have no doubt.
