You cons love to judge the choices of others, especially lower income people. When a fast food worker making 12/hour gets a raise to 15/hour that's an extra 6K in a year. That is substantial. Even more if they more than the assumed 40 hours a week which plenty of low wage workers do out of necessity. Even in this area that is substantial. It can mean paying off credit card debt, possibly move to a town with better schools for their kids. Even if they do decide to "waste" it on purchases, those purchases contribute to our consumer driven economy. Better the lower and middle income groups have more to spend than the rich who can only buy so many gadgets or vacation homes. If the GOP wouldn't block life necessities like help with childcare or healthcare, or provide free community college, more of those workers could really get ahead and start moving into the middle class. The GOP is the political party that really wants people dumb and broke.

Should have been unanimous like the decision on the Nixon tapes but as you pointed out, Thomas is a partisan and by any sensible measure should have recused himself given his wife’s role in the insurrection, but the cons will feel the “sting” of 8-1, especially since the Trump trio of justices, Kavanaugh, Goresuch, and Barrett all went against him. Ingrates I guess :)

when you raise the minimum wage ,you also raise the prices of everything that that business sells
you also raise the wages of everyone who was close to the minimum wage - so you raise those businesses prices as well and so on and so on
so effectively you are simply keeping everything the same just at a higher cost to everyone

its simply a BS feel good maneuver- but in the world of economics nothing changes, except for the buyer,and sometimes they choose not to buy at the higher price
there is no upward mobility by this change it actually drops the bottom of the middle class into the upper lower class
