the US Senate cannot impeach a private citizen
they also cant try a private citizen (separation of powers)

this whole thing is a sham- on both sides, just political theatre for idiots

Did Trump U give you that law degree? Congress was attacked after Trump incited a mob and in your world Congress is powerless to do anything about it since Trump only had 2 weeks in office when he unleashed his minions on elected officials.

Trump's been impeached. One of his punishments is that he can't run for office again. I guess in your brilliant legal mind a president can do whatever he damn pleases after he loses the election and there is nothing anyone can do about it in Congress. Point me to where it says that in our constitution. Or did Professor Mark Levin tell you that?

Many legal scholars disagree. Are you a legal scholar?

Not the op but I prefer his 2024 run be blocked by his being in jail for fraud - bank, tax, financial, any or in combination. He's terrified of that and it's a big reason why he might be dragged out of the WH like Julian Assange from the Ecuadorian embassy

a felony conviction would do what you want- but Congress doesnt try criminal cases

how about Article II section 4 of the Constitution- try that on for size

but keep reading until you get to the part about conviction and its penalties- you may learn something

Here is my bet... within three months Trump will be a pariah in the Repug party... and the Right Wing scum will cast him aside...

Hell, he actually managed, almost single handedly, to lose Georgia for the Repugs and he has exposed millions of dopes to public embarrassment...

... but surely if you claim you have not committed a crime, what is there to pardon?

If you're innocent, why would you take the 5th?

                        - Donald Trump

Similar principle. A pardon is a confirmation of guilt. Supposedly the kiddos are conflicted in getting pardons because of this.

Fortunately SDNY or other state charges aren't covered by presidential pardons. It's also not clear Trump can legally pardon himself. It clearly wasn't the intention of the founding fathers to let that happen. It is something that can be remedied by a SCOTUS ruling or by Congress. Ithink woould readily pass by the required amount of voters - the GOP also doesn't want Democratic president do be able to do the same.

Not sure it will happen that quickly as he's got a segment that are still quite loyal and readily make up any excuse about anything he does or say. GOP politicians will get there faster because it will cost them donations and voters.

there has always been a deep state-
Eisenhower warned of it in the 50s (military Industrial complex)
in the past it was weaponized for overseas use, with very few instances on domestic soil
last 4 years it has been on domestic soil
We grew tired of 20 year wars

Answer this honestly (to yourself)- in what other walk of life would Adam Schiff be allowed to remain after the 1st impeachment debacle -Principled people would have forced him to resign
