Getting the right test and when you get it is really tricky. Really you should get tested twice, like your nephew did, but a lot of people won't. They get a negative result and assume all is fine, especially if they don't really get sick or are even asymptomatic. It's getting really hard to get tested if you're not symptomatic because demand is so high.
