How could the Republicans not prepare the American people for the logical outcome of cutting taxes? How could they not school people to understand that a small weekly increase of take home results in a far larger comparative loss in annual tax return monies?
And what of the fact that a significant number of Americans have actually found their overall tax burden increased, without the number of exemptions now lost not added to their standard deduction?

How could they not anticipate this response from the general public when tax time rolled around?

The jobs numbers and economic impact never pan out like companies promise. Voters are tired of corporate giveaways. Imagine what $3B could do in the area with things like small business loans, improved infrastructure, low income housing or a tax-free zone?

You have a very weak understanding of the constitution and its checks and balances. The FBI works under the executive branch at the behest of the president. The president can decide what to investigate and what not to investigate, who to hire, who to fire at his discretion. This is the design and the way it should because you can fall into the trap that McCabe tried to create based on some theory, informed by his bias. After two years there is no evidence of any collusion or conspiracy. There is no better example of the deep state, not to mention the FBI meddling with Hilary email, and how the FBI was out of control.
