Now imagine that such a massacre unfolds more than five times a day, seven days a week, unceasingly for five years, totaling perhaps 470,000 deaths. That is syria. Yet even as the syrian and russian governments commit war crimes, bombing hospitals and starving civilians, president obama and the world seem to shrug.

I admire obama for expanding health care and averting a nuclear crisis with iran, but allowing syria’s civil war and suffering to drag on unchallenged has been his worst mistake, casting a shadow over his legacy. It is also a stain on all of us, analogous to the indifference toward jewish refugees in the 1930s, to the eyes averted from bosnia and rwanda in the 1990s, to darfur in the 2000s.

I met recently with two brave american doctors who, at great personal risk, used their vacation time to sneak into aleppo, syria, to care for children injured by barrel bombs. They described working in a makeshift underground hospital and their quiet fury at the world’s nonchalance.

“sitting idly by and allowing a government and its allies to systematically and deliberately bomb, torture and starve hundreds of thousands of people to death, that is not the solution,” dr. Samer attar, a surgeon from chicago, told me. “silence, apathy, indifference and inaction aren’t going to make it go away.”

You can trust the Democrats. They had no problem letting woman and children die in Syria , and now they want you to close your eyes and believe that they are all woman and children in the caravan. It isn't an " invasion" because they are not armed. It isn't an " invasion" because they are not trying to take over territory.

But they are armed. Armed with the correct talking points Lefty lawyers will provide, and they are coming here to steal benefits and occupy our social services and institutions as a fraud. COLORADO SPRINGS — The Army fell thousands of troops short of its recruiting goals this year, the first time it has done so since the height of the Iraq war 13 years ago.

The shortfall is due in part to a hot job market that has lured away many recruits at a time that President Trump and Congress seek to expand the military, and have raised the number the Army needs to meet.

The Army hoped to bring in about 76,500 new soldiers this year. But with the fiscal year ending this month, it is still 6,500 troops short, even after spending an extra $200 million on bonuses and lowering standards to let in more troops with conduct or health issues.

On top of having to compete with a robust economy, with an unemployment rate below 4 percent, the Army must pick from what it says is a shrinking pool of eligible recruits. More than two-thirds of young adults do not qualify for military service because of poor physical fitness or other issues such as drug use, according to the Army.

Gutted our military to combat ineffective-
And lost all that was gained in Iraq
Let the Russians crush the rebellion in Syria which kept Assad in power and gave Russia back its role in the Middle East

As for your taker rants, look at the stats on who uses services and benefits. There's plenty of white Americans milking the system. In fact Trump country states are the biggest users per capita of benefits in the country. Government data also shows that crimes committed by immigrants is significantly lower than American born criminals. Or are you like Trump - you won't believe even government data if it doesn't go with your narrative?

Right now tens of thousands of vets are desperately waiting to be paid their VA benefits to cover school and housing costs. Benefits promised to them. Many are going to have to drop out of school and some risk homelessness. That isn't how you treat vets. You also don't berate Gold Star families or former military personnel who dare speak their minds. You also don't ship them off to TX to try and improve you lagging poll numbers. You show up when duty calls to honor the men and women who have served. Period. You just do it.
