^ this is the issue. And then what about all the others with close contact with anyone in those teams....this is what keeps administrators up at night.

That’s why trump won’t sign the pelosi giveaway bill that doesn’t address liability issues. I have the same issue at work. Afraid I will get sued by the first person who says coming to work gave them China virus. Yet some of those idiots jumped on a plane and visited relatives in California during the the time they were “working from home” and some took vacations in ocean city a few weeks ago.

For sure Lamont’s office is in CO*HOOTS with the Ciac over the next decision made.

As he should be. It's a decision that could potentially impact the state's ability to keep case numbers in check. It isn't just about the athletes.

Similar to parents screaming about wanting schools open but they let their kids go to, or even host parties. If you want your kids in school then you better ramp the distancing back up again.

Parents care too much about their kid's popularity status versus contagion.

                Soccer

Actually I was involved in a situation in summer league where a Covid positive player attended a camp and then stayed home waiting for rest results. Other players from camp played multiple high schooll games that week. Protocol says only direct contact is affected. So they tested everyone from the camp. Not the high school opponents. It was found a few days later that no one else Tested positive from the camp. And the player is though to have picked up Covid from a medical professional in his household. So it ended up being a story that kind of showed soccer may not be a risk with proper distancing.

But testing is the key. If you could test and get results quickly achool and teams would be less affected. That still isn’t there. It can take 3-4 days for test results which turns everything into a mess. So as much as the trumpers want to quote how great the testing is...it really isn’t. Widespread Rapid tests that work would help a lot.

The whole thing is ridiculous and has nothing to do with safety. It is just liability based. Cjsa will have a fall soccer league by high school teams if regular high school is cancelled. Plus clubs will have seasons. The kids will actually play more soccer but the liability will be on someone else. The guidelines actually stated a halt on Ciac sports but towns can continue with hs summer league. That makes a lot of sense.

Maybe the can round up all the boys who identify as girls and let them run some races against girls and crown them state champs....oh wait, they already did that.

And these are the people you are entrusting to decide the state’s school sports program rules and protocols during a pandemic

We're in a low case, blue state and it still takes forever for results. My oldest needed one to return to work and it took 11 days to get the results. If he was actually sick, what's the point? He could have infected other people while waiting, and he also could have gotten infected during those 11 days, rendering his negative results utterly useless.

Now amplify what happened in your case times dozens of possible athletic team infections across the state. Not all test sites are free either, so if a family doesn't have insurance they may skip the test.

Probably the same parents that think it's not a big deal to let kids drink at their homes because it's "supervised" (quotes intentional)

Where do you live? In a cave. I had four people get tested at work....results came back in two days. Rapid tests most of them, but even one that wasn’t rapid came back in in a few days.

My daughter got tested for work, came back in two days. Wife had to go to hospital for out patient surgery, took a test on Saturday and they did they did the surgery on Monday. Daughter just got tested again as required for her college. Came back negative.

He had to go to the site mandated by his company. Not his fault, and it wasn't even because of insurance. He was told to go to that specific site. Yes there are better sites, but there also bad sites like that one. If cases start to build again wait times will get worse. Imagine what it's like in states like FL and GA.

There are plenty of rapid results sites in southern CT. 30 minute results.

For how long this time? 2 weeks? Another 5 months? A year? Longer? If it hasn't worked in 5 months, it simply won't work. Borders, travel, and mass transit are not **** down entirely. Stick in your @$$. This is a joke.
