Why is the automatic assumption that things will get shut down? They might and they might not, it all depends. It’s not a foregone conclusion, yet that’s how it’s being handled by many. Kids have been playing all summer with no transmission. Why will transmission suddenly occur?

That’s why parents should just push for a club season. Your going to waste weeks on this insanity when you kid could be practicing and playing games

If HS gets shut down, so will club. Ned can’t allow club to continue, but end HS sports.

The way I read the CIAC HS soccer guidance is as long as cases are less than 356 on a 7 day moving average and no significant trends upward games are on. Current 7day case count is 139. That allows cases to rise by ~200% from where they are today.

Also HS soccer is shutdown if cases reach 890 on 7 day moving average.

Aren't you paying attention? They are moving. The states middle and too earners have been leaving in droves. What will the new tax burden be like for the rest of idiots who stayed .... Can't wait for the next 5 years ..... I already pay a sh!t ton of taxes and they are going to want 50-75% more. We are out when our youngest finishes high school. Can't wait. Once we leave we will finally have a ton of breathing room. My advice for every single one of my kids as they finish high school? Decide where you will have a family and live your life by the tax rates and quality of life of the places you are considering settling down in. Wish we were given that advice. We grew up here and thought every place was like this when we were younger. Then we got trapped here when our kids had established their own lives and friends. I do not want that to happen to them.

2 important studies came out this week dealing with the prevalence of false positives. Very important info. This is why cdc changed testing guidelines.
Based on CT testing numbers (total test per day), virus prevalence ( under 1%) and the PCR test, 20-30% of the positive test are false positives.
Look at last weeks # for CT.
823 first time positive out of 93,792 test
                      Adjust this for false positives
576-658 test positive out of 93,792
                      That is .6% - .7%

I am surprised that one point is not being taken more seriously; creating a far more accurate test. However, in the end, I suppose it just doesn't matter. The data will be bent for whomever is applying it and needs support for the warped points they are trying to make.

False negatives are also a problem - along with idiots who think if they're negative they're good to go, can't get it later

Testing availability and accuracy has been a problem in the US since late January. We still can't get it right, but testing less (Trump's goal) does not not help. Too many people are asymptomatic or pre symptomatic. You need to keep track of those people as much as you do those with symptoms.

Probably. Politically it's very hard to sell that one thing is ok but not the other, even more so when club involves kids from all different towns, even states, interacting.

My kid gets tested 2x a week......you want more? All those college kids getting tested is going the distort the data. Some are smart. Others like kids at UConn are blowing antifa protestors and aren’t.

Colleges are motivated to keep their doors open but that's challenging with dorm living. They have little choice but to do frequent testing, especially since some students clearly can't learn to do the right thing. Testing is the only way to catch things quickly and get on top of it.

The rest of us should be tested if
                                - we have symptoms (duh)
                                - have knowingly been in close contact with an infected person

You shouldn't get tested out of curiosity, or you heard a cashier at your local Stop and Shop had it.

No need to make it political, or in your case, extremely biased.
