Well actually the joke is really on you. It’ll be fun to watch your face when your daughter gets fat and ends up quitting soccer and focusing on smoking and hanging out with the boys. All this energy about kids soccer is what’s going to get your daughter to quit. But you run your own ship. It’s your garbage you got to clean up.
you sound very familiar with it. Wife? Daughter? Sorry to hear that.
Well, they need to play someone without it costing a fortune. In an ideal world it would be limited to MLS clubs only, but in the US that's nearly impossible. This isn't Europe where a quick train ride takes you to other cities with quality teams to play.
Or, every town has pride in their kids and their teams and that forges the basis for regional, invite only teams. The french dont have to travel to Italy or England for great games, the next towns over have plenty of talent .... see Manchester region .... go about 30 miles in any direction and you have a region smaller than CT with loads of talented youth teams. Pick any other point near a decent-sized european city and you can do the same.

We just don't have that level of scale, not even in the densely populated, geographic smaller northeast. Makes no sense for Red Bulls to fly to Chicago for games. MLS should do more round robin regional based events though - mls clubs plus some top next teams.
They made poor choices and it's biting them in the arse now. They could have bought the S+ ECNL badge several years ago but didn't. They chose GDA , which initially had much more promise than the GAL shell that's there now. There will never be a 3rd CT ECNL club - the state is far too small. So they're stuck with GAL and praying the league holds together. Their only shot would be if ECNL booted FSA but that won't happen any time soon
Very good analysis and actually focused on soccer which is refreshing around here.

True colors here. Girls beware of those misogynistic types who will body shame you pit you against each other and root for your failures. All because they can not live vicariously through their own who have failed them in some way. TRUTH

We actually do. If clubs were more affordable, there is plenty of great competition within a 90 minute drive in numerous directions from Harford, or from Boston, or from NY/NJ, PHILLY, DC/Baltimore .... instead, prices have skyrocketed as has travel and made many teams unaffordable for many so their turf has grown to make sure they have enough players .... so have their travel requirements to make sure they dont get into close games with the local riff raff teams. Its all a racquet but doesnt need to be.

No kidding. The existing clubs easily could be organized into single league with barely any drop in quality (possible an improvement) and less travel and expense. Lower costs expands player pool by bringing in the kids excluded by money. Clubs wouldnt need a 150 mile radius market to be competitive.
