Some people on here really want OW to fold. Jealousy maybe? KB leaving fuels speculation but folding seems a tad extreme. If they wanted to sell, there would be buyers at the right price.

Sorry, I have a real question....my youngest is trying out for OW. Been to practices, have the official tryout date coming up. How soon after do they usually send the offer letters?

If your kid is trying out for a new club, and the club really wants your kid they will let you know that night before you leave the grounds. Either the Head Coach will pull you aside or the assistant. They won't take any chances by letting you leave without a serious offer.
If you don't get that experience, and you get a call a couple of days later. That club was moving down their call back list because they were receiving 'no thank you's' from the players that were higher up the list.

Good coaches can recognize a talent in about 30 minutes of watching a game. All it takes is a few good touches, a few good decisions, some speed, movement off the ball, aggressiveness, whatever - at least at the younger ages.
Parents don't see what good coaches see. I remember years ago after what was a rather forgettable indoor game somewhere (not in CT), a coach from a good program picked out the top 2 players without batting an eyelash. No hesitation - and neither did much in terms of scoring or anything that game. He nailed it though and said if he coached that age he'd want those 2.
Those 2 went on to years of top level success. I learned a lot from that.

It seems like all the clubs have the same tactic during tryouts. If an outsider comes to tryout and is any good they will invite them to some training sessions and then make them an offer. If you are already part of the club you have to wait around for an offer, it’s seems disrespectful to the players already at the club but it’s all about business. It creates tons of turnover year after year.
