2005s are Sophomores in HS. No, a league that is designed to be competitive shouldn't have 8 goal differentials in a match with 15 year old kids. That league has little to no balance and those results are going to be the norm

I think another poster is correct that the NYSC team lost almost everyone. GDA had blowouts before GAL. It can happen in leagues but agreed it isn't and shouldn't be the norm

That specific team lost 9-10 kids to CFC teams. I do believe that was the only year they had that occur, though. I would think it had much more to do with the specific group of parents insanity than the club or league.

Another Oakwood parent and yes the league is very weak. The parents of the solid players are already whispering about ECNL. If this was not a covid fall Oakwood would have had a mass exodus. With that said the younger teams seem to be loaded with players but the talent level is very watered down but hey they need the money to keep the lights on.

Younger players don't have to decide on HS yet. That helps OW some in MS.

No league is perfect, but the GAL bills itself as elite and that simply isn’t true. ECNL has its issues, but overall it is stronger. EDP doesn’t say it is elite, they know their place in the landscape.

You think that is bad look at the 08 team. They have some good players, and a bunch that would not make a town team. In the end the good players will move on. And agree that the GA is weak to say the least.

The NYSC exodus was well documented here on TS but other teams like SSS, as well. What is the point of playing games where you win 9-1? Top teams now are STA, Seacoast and OW, this is even worse than the NPL league days.

If 05's are jumping ship then rest assured younger age groups are as well. Older ages don't matter for the league's future.
