Every year Oakwood has applied for the ecnl. They would do anything to be in the ecnl. They will never get added to the ecnl. Individual have a shot but they better act quickly. Others are leaving and most will get stick with another bad offering from yours truly Oakwood Soccer Club.

OW and the other DA teams will try and sell EDP as a good alternative league. Might be a hard sell but the majority of the mediocre kids will stay. FSA will get most of the top players. Maybe a few older kids who can drive themselves will take the hike to Bethany.

Please don’t mistake CFC as a club that doesn’t want to win.
While CFC is loyal to players, they have options in the club to move players around.
Back before the age group team, CFC had a u13 team that played the ECNL schedule and got killed every game. It was a mix of 2002 and 2003 players.
A year later with the change, none of those kids played ECNL. CFC took the top 2002 kids from the club and then built around them with kids from Yankee, FSA, Ginga and OW. They tried the same thing with 2003s. 02 turned out well because they already had some stars. 2003 didn’t work out as planned. CFC has 20 kids headed to D1 in the fall so the model works.
CFC is opportunistic and will look to capitalize on this shift in the landscape.
ECNL basically now has no competition at top of girls pyramid. There’s no chance anyone throws money at trying to compete with that
