Looking at your DA link, it looks like there are only 4 other teams in their conference. Looks like a lot of teams in northeast don’t field teams in that age group.

No one, I repeat, no one in the state is going to make a living playing soccer. USSF is experimenting with our kids and I hear, they are considering wide sweeping changes. They will go residential with a few, not some league for the masses. A kid in the DA at Oakwood, can be an impact player in HS, be a captain, play in front of 1000 people in the community. Not sure, why we are letting them take this away from us.

High school soccer is terrible, and your lucky if you can get 1000 people to watch the games in the whole season combined. High school soccer equals bad habits ... kick and run

The broad generalizations on this website are laughable. It's an individual decision based on individual needs. If your kid is having fun, developing each day, learning valuable life lessons, etc., that's all that matters. It's not one size fits all. There are many paths (DA, ECNL, EDP, CCSL, CJSA, NPL, HS) and plenty of clubs to fill all needs.
Each family, and each player has a conscious choice on where they will try to play based on what's important to them as individuals.
