My daughter is a high school sophomore this fall. No way will she make varsity until maybe her senior year, and then it's iffy. So, we're looking for a club where she can start and, if she wants to go to piano and dance practice, can skip a bunch of training without penalty. I'd also like to be head coach for the team. OW sounds like the right kind of club.

If this is a real parent, the kid will quit soccer before high school. Guaranteed.

Collegiate cheerleading accounted for 70.5% of all female catastrophic sports injuries and high school cheerleading for 65.2% of all high school female catastrophic sports injuries. Without a doubt, cheerleading is the most dangerous female sport when we look at the number of catastrophic injuries.

The point of GDA is to develop top level players (i know this is same as ECNL). but in GDA, you are sacrificing a portion of your teenage years and social life to ensure that you are "developing" into a top caliber player. These clubs being so desperate for players lie to many of them about their potential. Then they will realize they are only qualified to attend an overpriced country club to play soccer.

High school and DA both have there pros and cons but please stop using the "they don't get to play w their friends" as the main excuse...as an excuse at all.

Wether you possess god given ability or have to work your ass off, EVERY professional player has made sacrifices to get to that next level.

Playing in front of hundreds of people....not at my daughters school, no one goes to watch the games... and they have one or two pasta parties... hardly missing any socializing and what makes you think that kids would travel without their friends to a DA game, boy what a twist you can put on things to make them come out the way you want them to be seen...girls always find a way too socialize, they certainly do not need to be on a sports team for that
